Origins:

First started in 1990’s to the early 2000’s, on UK pirate shows. Development:

This genre was not known as Grime music until 2003-2004 when artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Kano and Lethal Bizzle brought it onto the mainstream media network and rebranded it as Grime music. Radio’s teen station ‘BBC Radio 1Xtra’ is the biggest player of grime music on the radio as it is aimed at the target audience of this music genre which is !6-!8 year old men who are in full time education and/or have a part time job.

MIse-en scène:

The main image that I intend on using is a brick wall as this music genre is described as music from the streets. Other images may just be a simple plain black wall, in tunnel, on a roof with a city scape in it.

8. Typical fans of grime music are white males, some of the other fan are mixed race or black so I will have a white male and a mixed race male for my main image

9. I will have a Q&A style article in my magazine as I prefer them to the free flowing. They are easier to read and if you get distracted by something you can easily find where you were by thinking which question. Also you get more information about the artist with less time taken reading.

This has the image taking the majority of the spread which I will not do as I don’t like it. The reasons why I don’t like it this way is because you need to know what it is saying in the article and when it is small people might miss the text and just turn the page. What I do like about how the article is layout is how they have put the question in red and the answer in white, this enables the reader to know when the question and the response end. Also they have colour co-ordinated the text to the colour of the clothing that the artists are wearing which again is a good think that I like about this article, it doesn’t look like much information has been revealed in this article but there would be a lot of information, the quality is high even though the quantity is not.

Page 4: Task 6

This type of article does not look appealing ass it is a large amount of writing which would be time consuming, some people would not read this article as they don’t know where the response is about as there is not a question. It doesn’t look very appealing either as it is a massive text block there is no relation to the image used unlike the other article annotated previously which also doesn’t look that good.
