Task 3.1 Monitoring the alignment process of joint research programming

Task Leader: FCT Portugal

Rome, 7th June 2016

- Monitor and assess JPICH alignment and implementation process; - Demonstrate and evaluate JPICH impact by identifying and applying qualitative and quantitative KPIs.

Objectives of WP3

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations Rome, 7th June 2016

Task 3.1 Monitoring the alignment process

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations Rome, 7th June 2016

Task 3.1 – Monitoring the alignment process

Objectives (4) of this task:

1. Upgrade the JHEP monitoring and evaluation methodology by selecting

relevant KPIs for monitoring the alignment process.

- KPIs applied on a regular basis by partners;

- Partners report to Task Leader for the period covered by the project;

- Task Leader summarize the outputs received in order to produce Reports

on the implementation of the alignment of common research

programmes.

Description of Work

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations Rome, 7th June 2016

Task 3.1 – Monitoring the alignment process Objectives of this task: 2. Continue to monitor the outcomes and results of activities launched

through the first CSA JHEP, as the alignment of national research

programmes and the outcomes of activities implemented through JHEP2

WP2 and the different Task Forces applied in the frame of JHEP2.

Description of Work

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations Rome, 7th June 2016

Task 3.1 – Monitoring the alignment process Objectives of this task:

3. Continue the implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools identified

in JHEP (D5.2) and provide solutions to ensure improved efficiency of

monitoring activities and more effective implementation of indicators.

Description of Work

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations Rome, 7th June 2016

Task 3.1 – Monitoring the alignment process Objectives of this task:

4. Produce interim evaluations summarizing and analysing all outputs of the

monitoring exercise in terms of joint programming (months 18 and 36).

D3.1 – Key Performance Indicators to monitor alignment at national

research programmes level and at JPI-CH research activities level

(month 6 – June 2016):

- the report will revise and upgrade within Task 3.1 the first JHEP

D5.2 set of indicators.

● Refinement of the previous List of Indicators:

- eliminate those that may be overlapping, those no longer

necessary at this stage, and those considered useless for

the purpose;

- align the list with the guidelines from the E.C. and the GPC;

- consider the inputs of the JHEP2 partners.

Rational

Carlos Almeida Pereira Department of International Relations

1. The set of indicators for the D3.1 is an adaptation of D5.2

methodology for the specific purpose of monitoring and assessment

of activities to be implemented under JHEP2 (namely “alignment”

activities).

2. Indicators of D5.2 will not be suppressed. They may be useful for

later stages of the project, as the methodology designed in D5.2 had

the objective to assess the whole JPI CH project.

3. WP3 (JHEP2): indicators to assess only specific activities under

JHEP2 (“alignment”).
