Dear Mahila friends,
Happy to say hello to you all. With the blessings of Goddess Vasavamba, I have taken up the
chairpersonship of our prestigious Sabha. My humble request to you all is to actively participate in all our
programmes and give us your feedback so that we can march forward elegantly. So many thousands and
thousands of vysya families are living in our great Chennai, yet only we – one thousand mahilas have come
forward to be a part of our esteemed Sabha. I congratulate all of us for that but we need to make our efforts
to inspire more of our friends and relatives to become aware of our sabha's activities, so that they too can
participate, bringing out their potentials.
More exciting is that we have started youth wing this year, where all your daughters/daughters-in-law have got the opportunity
to become a member and a lot of programs and activities are in store for them.
Today, as one is busily marching in this mechanical world, chasing round the clock, a lot of awareness has become the need of the
hour. We are trying our best to bring about awareness camps and programs relating to health, education, social and religious
values.
Our Annual Calendar is now in your hands. Further details are available with our committee members, who are always vibrant
with love and energy to help you.
The pillars of our Sabha are our advisory committee, who have constantly guided me in all my steps. My sincere thanks to all of

Annual General Body Meeting
The 28th Annual General Body Meeting of Tamil Nadu Arya Vysya Mahila Sabha was held on Monday, June 20th, 2011 at YWCA Chennai. The meeting was well attended and the activity for the year 2010-11 was presented by the outgoing Chair person Mrs. Ranjani Narayanan and her team.
Scholarship loan of Rs.50,000/- was given to R. Praveena, daughter of Mr. G. Radha Krishnan, studying B.E. Computer Science and Engineering at Vellamal. Mrs. Saroja. V. Guruswamy interest free loan scholarship was given to Miss. M. Meera, daughter of M. Satish, Studying, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering.
'Men may come, men may go, but I go on forever' said a river. How true it is for a sabha like ours. It was a memorable day for us. Mrs. Kala Bashyam and Mrs. Sri lakshmi Mohan Rao were the tellers for the election.
Incoming Leadership team of 2011 – 2013 was elected and a new team of dynamic Mahilas was formed.
Mrs. Kala Bashyam introduced Mrs. Uma Maheshwari Gupta to the gathering. In her acceptance speech Mrs. Uma Maheshwari Gupta thanked the members for reposing the confidence in her. She briefed about the projects that she would carry out during 2011- 2012. A new youth wing was inaugurated by our Chairperson Mrs. Uma Maheswari Gupta. Mrs. Revathy Suresh and Mrs. Niranjani won surprise gifts. Our Chairperson introduced the Sub Committee Members Mrs. Niranjani, Mrs. Madhavi, Mrs. Jyotsna, Mrs. Chandhana and Mrs. Susheela Nath to the forum.
