Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him.
Psalm 34:8
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
I recently read a story on Gods boxes. God once gave a man two boxes
to hold. He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box, and put all your
joys in the gold box." The man heeded Gods words, and in the two boxes,
he stored his joys and sorrows respectively. But though the gold became
heavier each day, the black was as light as before. With curiosity, heopened the black box to learn why the weight was not increasing. And hesaw, in the base of the box, a hole through which his sorrows had escaped.
He showed the hole to God, and mused aloud, "I wonder where my
sorrows could be?" God smiled a gentle smile and said, "My child, they're
all here with me." The man asked, "God, why only the black box is with
the hole?" God said, "My child, the gold box is for you to count your
blessings and the black box is for you to let go all your sorrows."
I love the way the psalmist uses the analogy of tasting God to see if He is
good! Psalmist is urging us to taste God and see for themselves howwonderful His love, mercy and grace are in our lives! He calls on us to
taste the salvation that only God can provide and see if it is GOOD!
Finally the psalmists reveals that those who are willing to taste God are
not going to be disappointed but they are going to find refuge in
Christ they are going to find a shelter from the storms of life they are
going to have an advocate who will offer them refuge from this world and
a permanent refuge from the sinful nature of their own souls.
Therefore, let us try to taste Him and count our blessings every day.
May God bless you.

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY!
A teenage boy had just passed his driving test
and inquired of his father as to when they
could discuss his use of the car. His father said
he'd make a deal with his son: 'You bring your
grades up from a C to a B average, study your
Bible a little, and get your hair cut. Then we'lltalk about the car.'
The boy thought about that for a moment,
decided he'd settle for the offer, and they
agreed on it. After about six weeks his father
said, Son, you've brought your grades up and
I've observed that you have been studying
your Bible, but I'm disappointed you haven't
had your hair cut.
The boy said, You know, Dad, I've been think-
ing about that, and I've noticed in my studies
of the Bible that Samson had long hair, John
the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long
hair...and there's even strong evidence that
Jesus had long hair.
You are going to love Dad's reply : his fatherreplied : "Did you also notice, they all walked
everywhere they went ? "
