Together In Mission – Thank You

Thank you to all who have participated in this year’s Together In Mission appeal. This year our parish and school will benefit from the generous support received from La Purisima parishioners and those of other Archdiocesan parishes. This year the Together In Mission office has awarded La Purisima Church $25,000 and our parish school will receive $50,000. Without your contribution to the Together In Mission appeal it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to keep many vital ministries available to our commu-nity. This year’s parish goal is $41,200 and the amount received from La Purisima parishioners thus far is $34,880. Let me first thank those who have already contributed to our parish goal and ask those who have not contribute to please prayerful consider making a gift to help us reach our goal.

High school may be a time when teenagers begin to think about dating, making communication between teens and their parents even more important. Consider having an open, honest conver-sation with your teen about dating and appropriate relation-ships. Talk about what they want out of a relationship, and what their values are. Make sure they know how to communi-cate what they feel comfortable with, and what makes them uncomfortable. Talk with them about Catholic morals, and make sure they know you are always available. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas sponsor a yearly na-tional educational contest for students grades 4 thru 8. The first place entries in each category are sent to the State Level and if they win there they are submitted to National Level. Save the Date for Religious Education Retreat

Religious Education will host a bilingual retreat for catechist of all levels. This retreat will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2017 form 8:30 – 11:00 am. We will begin with Mass and continue with interact talks and refreshments. Our retreat director will be Mr. Victor Hernandez. He is the Director of Religious Education at Our Lady of the Assump-tion in Claremont, CA. We invite those who have been and those who are considering teaching the faith to come and join us.

Juntos en Misión – Gracias

Gracias a todos los que han participado este año con sus contri-buciones juntos en misión. Este año, nuestra parroquia y la es-cuela se beneficiarán del generoso apoyo recibido por los feli-greses de la Purisima y aquellos de otras parroquias Arquidio-cesanas. Este año la oficina juntos en misión de la Iglesia La Purísima ha otorgado $25.000 nuestra escuela parroquial recibi-rá 50.000 dólares. Sin su contribución al llamamiento juntos en misión sería muy difícil, si no imposible, mantener muchos ministerios vitales disponibles en nuestra comunidad. Este año la meta de la parroquia es de 41.200 dólares y la cantidad reci-bida de los feligreses de la Purísima hasta la fecha es de $34,880. En primer lugar, permítanme dar las gracias a quienes han contribuido a nuestra parroquia y pedir a aquellos que no han contribuido por favor considere hacer una donación para ayudarnos a alcanzar nuestro objetivo.

Las hijas católicas de las Américas patrocina un concurso educativo na-cional anual para estudiantes de los grados 4 a 8. El primer lugar en cada categoría son enviados a nivel estatal y si ganan allí son presentados a nivel nacional. El programa de Educación Religiosa ofrecerá un retiro bilingüe para catequistas de todos los niveles. Este retiro tendrá lugar el sábado 16 de septiembre de 2017 de 8:30 a 11:00 am. En el salón par roquial. Comenzaremos con la Misa y continuaremos con charlas interactivas y refrescos. Nuestro director de este retiro será el Sr. Víctor Hernández. Él es el Director de Educación Religiosa en Nuestra Señora de la Asunción en Claremont, CA. Invitamos a aquellos que han sido cate-quistas y aquellos que gusten ser catequistas.

SE SOLICITA ASISTENTE DE MAESTRA PREESCOLAR

La escuela preescolar de la Purisima está buscando un asistente de maestra para trabajar con niños 2.5-5 años de edad. Requiere tener 12 ECS/ECE unidades y la experiencia en la enseñanza con niños de 2.5-5 años. También necesitará tomar huellas digitales o estar dispuestos a tomar huellas digitales, actualizar la MMR y archivos de vacunas para la tos ferina. Conocimiento del currículo preescolar y currículo afuera de clase es el preferi-do, y ser creativo, interesante, cuidado y compromiso.
