ART AND ENVIRONMENT In the church you will see a collage of elements from the Gospel stories of these ordinary time Sundays. By the presider’s chair, a scene of seed, of rocky ground with withered plants, and

of rich ground with green plants. semillas, de tierra pedregosa con plantas secas, y de tierra buena con plantas verdes. Al lado del ambón, trigo, que creció junto con la cizaña, y que al fin, el Segador separará, almacenando el trigo en su granero, y que-mando la cizaña. Al fondo de la cruz hay redes. Jesús comparó el Reino con una red que se echa en el mar y que recoge toda clase de pescado, los cuales serán se-parados, los buenos guardados, y los malos, tirados al horno encendido. De nuevo, en el lado del ambón, una canasta representa las doce canastas llenas de pan que sobraron después de la multiplicación de los panes. Las uvas, las copitas y platitos sencillos dibujando conexio-nes al tema de este evangelio eucarístico. A la derecha de la cruz, la barca, sacudida por una ola. Llamando a la mente ambos la fe y las dudas de Pedro, mientras el Se-ñor le hace una seña a caminar en el agua. Por fin, al lado del ambón de nuevo, una mesa chiquita, recordán-donos de la fe de la mujer cananea, “Señor, hasta los perros se comen la migajas que caen de la mesa de sus amos.” Que estos símbolos mantengan estas historias presentes enn nosotros para que enriquezcamos nues-tras propias vidas de fe mientras consideramos y recon-sideramos lo que el Señor nos está diciendo por medio de su Palabra.

RECOGNITION HONORS HILARIO LUMBRERAS, III Congratulations to lifelong parishioner and youth group repre-sentative, Hilario Lumbreras, III, who was nominated and select-ed to receive the 2013-2014 YOUTH FOR CHRIST AWARD from the Archdiocesan Office of Adolescent Catechesis and Evangelization. This recognition is given to teens that have made a significant contribution in youth ministry as outstanding models of service to other youth on the archdiocesan, deanery, or parish levels of youth ministry. Hilario was specifically recog-nized for his outstanding contributions on the Archdiocesan Youth Councils, having served in a variety of leadership posi-tions for the past five years. Preparing to enter Texas A & M, Hilario is the son of proud par-ents, Sonia and Hilario Lumbreras, Jr.. He attended CCE during his formative years, served as an altar server and participated in numerous parish events and activities. The award was present-ed this past Sunday at the Closing Celebration and Mass at the Archdiocesan Youth Conference in downtown Houston. All high school youth of the parish are encouraged to learn more about the Archdiocesan Youth Council by contacting Associate Director, Randy Adams at Radams@archgh.org.

ESPECIAL RECONOCIMINETO EN HONOR DE HILARIO LUMBRERAS, III

Felicidades a Hilario Lumbreras, feligrés por toda su vida y re-presentante del grupo de jóvenes, quien fue nominado y selec-cionado a recibir el PREMIO DE JOVEN DE CRISTO 2013-2014 de la Oficina de Catequesis y Evangelización Arquidioce-sana de Adolescentes. Este reconocimiento se otorga a jóve-nes que han ofrecido una significante contribución en el minis-terio de jóvenes como modelos ejemplares de servicio a otros jóvenes a nivel de arquidiócesis, decanato o parroquia en el grupo de jóvenes. Hilario fue reconocido específicamente por su sobresaliente contribución en los Concilios Arquidiocesanos de Jóvenes, habiendo servido en una variedad de posiciones de liderazgo en los últimos cinco años. Hilario es hijo de sus orgullosos padres, Sonia e Hilario Lumbre-ras, Jr. El asistió al Catecismo en sus años de formación, sirvió como monaguillo y participó en numerosos eventos y activida-des parroquiales.
