Hot-Formed armour

Jankelareattheforefrontofanew,highlyinnovativehot-formedarmouringtechnology.Thistechnologyallowsforlarger,complexshapedandformedpiecesofsteelarmourtoreplacetheflatcomponentsthatareconventionallyweldedtogether.

Throughformingofhighhardnesssteelstocreatecompleteexternalbodies,internalarmourskinsorcomplexstructures,thisnewsystemdeliversbothsignificantprotectionand weight advantages to the customer. Examples include the development of a complete replacement external hot-formedbody for the Jeep® J8 which successfully passed independent ballistic and blast testing andaninternalhot-formedarmoursystemforaToyotaLandCruisertoenableahigherprotection level, lower vehicle mass and increased rate of production.

The BLASTech family of products are an affordable, battle-proven and optimisedtechnology from Jankel. Developed to enhance a military platform’s protection,BLASTech increases survivability and decreases severity of injury to the seatedoccupantswhenthevehicleissubjectedtoananti-tankmineorImprovisedExplosiveDevice(IED).

The BLASTech seat range is available as a customised “X-Series” solution or oneof three extensively trialled standard designs: CrewSeat, TroopSeat and “Air-Ride”EngineeringSeat.
