Imagine driving your favourite classic car through the

glorious British countryside.

One of our favourite one day itineraries features exploring

some our beautiful countryside village whilst enjoying the

wind in your hair as you're chauffeured in a classic vintage

car. You will follow a route designed to give you an overview of

Oxford, famed for the Cotswolds and the Chiltern Hills.

Featuring a personal tour of Henley-on-Thames, showcasing

the best independent stores for that special personal

shopping experience, followed by a relaxing jaunt down our

beloved River Thames with a champagne picnic.

CLASSIC CAR CRUISING

Imagine being chauffeured in VJ 2092, a 4.5 litre Sports 4

Seater Bentley which was first registered to EWW Bailey of

Ross-on-Wye in July 1929?

VJ is what is now known as a Vanden Plas long wing tourer

to distinguish her from the many (many) green ‘Le Mans

Reps’. She is however exactly what a gentleman buying a ‘4½

Litre Sports 4 Seater Bentley’ in 1929 would have driven

away.

Bailey clearly used his Bentley hard as the works Service

Book records a significant number of major accident repairs.

Later sold in 1937 to MEA Royce, a Hurricane pilot, both the

car and Royce fortuitously survived the war.

VJ 2092 has had a further seven owners with the current

owner undertaking a five year fastidious and historically

correct last nut and bolt rebuild of the car to bring her to her

present condition which is exactly as she would have left

Bentley Motors in 1929.

“VJ” has since undertaken many family duties and trips

abroad, lapped Le Mans and the banked circuit at Montlhéry,

as well as undertaking regular shopping trips to Waitrose.

Plant Oxford is the birthplace and heart of MINI production.

Manufactured to individual customer specifications, hundreds

of MINIs leave the plant’s assembly lines each day, off to meet

new owners in more than 110 countries around the world.

Three UK plants have had a part to play in MINI production –

Plant Hams Hall makes engines, Plant Swindon produces body

pressings and sub-assemblies for MINI, and all this comes

together at Plant Oxford with body shell production, paint and

final assembly.

Since production of the new MINI started in 2001, almost 3

million cars have been made at Plant Oxford. But the plant’s

heritage goes back much further than that – it is a site with 100

years of automotive manufacturing history, which has become a

landmark in the “city of dreaming spires”.

Your exclusive guided tour will include a two hour tour around

the MINI Plant Oxford with optional refreshments before or

after your tour.

I was inspired to launch Humphreys of Henley by my love of the English

countryside. I was brought up in the Cotswolds and currently live in the

Chilterns. My desire is to share the hidden wonders of these places that are so

often missed by visitors.

Our guests provide our proudest moments, when we see their eyes widen in

amazement at the majesty of a hawk in full flight, or their absolute joy when

they shoot their first clay from the skies.

When we plan your itinerary with you, we identify each detail that will make
