When QUERER is reflexive, it means TO LOVE ONESELF.
When it is not reflexive, the verb QUERER means simply TO WANT.
Structure to express activities that
you want to do:

Quiero + comer. = I want to eat.
Queremos + correr. = We want to run.
Structure to express things that you

QUERER + NOUN(S) Quiero + comida y agua. = I want food & water.

SPANISH VERB “IR” (TO GO)
The Spanish verb “IR” is one of the mot commonly used verbs.
Used to express where you are going.
I am going to the beach. Voy a la playa.
Structure: conjugated verb IR + a + destination point
Used to express what you are going to do (future plans).
I am going to study. Voy a estudiar.
Structure: conjugated verb IR + a + Infinitive Verb
It is irregular in its conjugation:

SPANISH VERB “IR” (TO GO)
Just like in English, the verb to go is followed by “to”, in
Spanish the verb “ir” is followed by “a”.
If the noun that follows the “a” is masculine singular, as in “el
supermercado”, you must combine the two sounds of “a” and
“el” into a single sound: “al”.
a + el = al
For example:
Voy al mercado. I am going to the Supermarket.

A verb is reflexive when the subject and the object are the same.
I wash myself.

Since the subject and object are the same, the verb is reflexive.
I wash the car.

Since the subject and object are different, the verb is NOT
REFLEXIVE.

When you learned to
conjugate regular verbs,
you needed to learn the
“SUBJECT PRONOUNS”.

different set of pronouns

THE PRETERIT: REGULAR VERBS
The preterit tense is used when discussing something that was completed in the past
(i.e., a particular occasion).
EJEMPLO: Yo comí. (I ate.)
Take off the last two letters of the infinitive (hablar, comer, escribir) and add the
proper ending:

There are some irregular verbs in the preterit tense. Tener, ser, ir, and hacer are examples.
