January 21—3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time There is a certain urgency in today’s Gospel as Jesus calls His first disciples—Andrew and Simon, James and John. Each one follows Jesus immediately, unhesitatingly aban-doning nets and boats, father and fellow workers. To what is Jesus calling me—at this moment, in these circumstances? What will I need to abandon in order to follow Him?

STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION.

If every family at St. Joseph’s gave 1% more to Catholic Charities it would make a real difference to the homeless.

“Here's what I to say to my kids--and it is a mes-sage for all children: Listen to God. Pay atten-tion to your heart. If you're inclined to throw in your hat with a group of brothers, sisters, or priests--go for it! It can be a great life … and

along the way you will know God's joy ... You will find God's peace because you will be living your calling.” From “Why I encourage my kids to consider religious life” by Carol Schuck Scheiber
