December 31—Holy Family “Whatever you do,” says St Paul to the Colossians, “...do it in the name of the Lord Jesus. Give thanks to God the Father through Him.” And so it is that we offer our gifts in the Eu-charist “through Him, with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit.”

STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION.

Our model of stewardship this week is our patron, St. Joseph. He takes the Holy Child to present Him to the Lord as is

proscribed by the Law. Are we offering up those things that matter most to the Lord—our children, families, blessings, health, graces? What is the condition of our hearts as we do so?

The Charity and Justice Committee has a Donation Barrel set up in the lobby for Catholic Charities. Each month, the re-quested donation items will be updated to reflect the most pressing need. At the end of each month, the barrel will be emptied and delivered to Catholic Charities. Donations for January are for Donna Hansen Haven. Requested items: Shaving Razors, cleaning supplies (especially mops and buckets), laundry baskets, pillows, shampoo and conditioner.

The Tree of Sharing gifts for the Otis Orchards children all came back in time for them to be given to the children be-fore Christmas!!! Kevin from Otis relayed that they were very, very grateful! Kevin said that one of his favorite days is giving out the presents and see the big smiles. Again our parish has proven its generosity and caring for these little ones. THANK YOU! He then offers four “mileposts for action”: welcoming, protecting, promoting, integrating. You can find the whole address here: www.news.va/en/news/popes-message-for-2018-world-day-ofpeace-is-relea.
