CSA Update July 22, 2018
Goal: $45,390.00
Pledged $36,029.50
Percent of Goal: 79.4%
Catholic Services Appeal 2018
We are getting closer! We are 3/4 of the way! Your CSA
pledge supports ministries, programs, and services that im-
pact the lives of Catholics and others every day that no one
parish can do by themselves.
Take a moment and make your pledge. The average pledge
for each family is $200 for the year so our parish can reach
its goal of $45,390.
This week we pray for the Office of Parish Life and for the
support through our Catholic Services Appeal of their min-
istry to all who seek support in difficult times from the
Catholic church.
God Bless,
Father Dave

Prayers and Squares
Thank you to all who
have donated supplies to
the ministry. Remember
we meet the 3rd Thurs-
day of each month. We will NOT meet
during the summer months.
We will be back the third Thursday, Sep-
tember 20, 2018. You can request a quilt
if you are in need by calling the rectory
office.
This is our Faith….
Let’s Keep the love flowing…
St. Rita’s catechism staff is planning a monthly fellowship
with all students and families who want to join us—We will
continue to grow in our faith together and reach out in love to
the community around us to spread the good news of Christ in
the world today.

Everyday Stewardship
You sit down at a restaurant and order drinks and an
appetizer. Then you order an entrée with a salad.
When all of that has been consumed, you order a
dessert. You leave after having had a good time, but
your pants don't fit so well now. You are so full you
regret ordering all those courses. Your eyes were
bigger than your stomach. You ordered what you
wanted and not what you needed.
In our daily lives, we find ourselves wanting many
things. We desire outcomes and good fortunes that
we think will make all the difference. However, often-
times when we receive these things, we only find
ourselves wanting more. Worse yet, if we do not get
them, we can see our lives as incomplete.
God always provides what we need. It may not be
what we want. Our eyes can deceive us into believ-
ing that what we receive is not enough to fulfill us. If
we trust in God and seek to only live with what sus-
tains us rather than dive into excess, we will find that
we are happier, healthier, and at peace. No one
should ever make himself or herself feel ove

Mass Intention Requests
Offering Mass for a special Intention is a
long standing tradition in the Catholic
Church. It is usually considered that special
graces are obtained for whom the Mass is
said. Masses are offered for many reasons,
for the souls in purgatory, in remembrance
for someone who is deceased, or in honor
of a birthday or anniversary. If you would
like to have a Mass said for someone, go to
the Parish Office or call 248-634-4841 ext.
7. They will help you with the dates and
times which are available. Cards are then
given to you so that you can mail them to
whomever you choose to so they may also
participate in the Mass. The stipend or of-
fering given, signifies the sacrificial nature
of giving of something of yourself to associ-
ate more intimately with Christ who offers
himself in the Eucharist.
Please Include the following in the
Mass Intentions:

Pope John Paul II said, “The altar
server has a privileged place in
liturgical celebrations. Those who
serve at Mass present themselves
to a community. They experience
from close at hand that Jesus
Christ is present and active in
every liturgy . . . In the liturgy you
are far more than mere “helpers
of the parish priest”. Above all, you are serv-
ants of Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest.”

training and shadow opportunities.
