Revision Techniques for Auditory Learners •Use listening to rather than reading, e.g. recording notes and playing them back to learn them through repetition •Download and listen to podcast on topics (search the internet for them and listen with them!) •Talking about and discussing topics after just learning them – get them to tell / teach you! •Say information over and over again to retain it •Use different voices for different information like creating a script or acting out a play – you could be a character in it! •Make a song, rap or poem – do a duet! •Set information to rhyme, rhythm or music •Aural Mnemonics, Acronyms •TV, video / radio supplements to obtain information Revision Techniques for Kinaesthetic Learners •Learn by physical action – doing, touching, feeling, trying things out etc. •Physical repartition, e.g. flashcards (see below) •Watch TV/video supplements on topics (see Youtube) – you could search for them and watch them together …with popcorn! •Making (new) notes, converting to / drawing as diagrams •Copying notes over and over again •Using interactive revision websites (see lists at the end and in their Planners) •Using their body to express a thought as their short and long term memory is improved by movement Beware.. Kinaesthetic Learners tend to be the most restless, have shorter attention spans and therefore need more frequent breaks They may also need you to ‘refocus’ them back to the revision
