Normally during the first Sunday of Lent, the
Gospel focuses upon the Devil's temptations on
Jesus Christ in the desert. However, in this Sun-
day's Gospel of Mark, less is mentioned on tempta-
tion and more is emphasized on the fulfillment of
the message of Jesus.
was tempted three times in the desert but he not
only resisted temptation but taught Satan a valua-
ble lesson about his divine mission to proclaim
Good News to the People of God. Jesus taught by
word and example.
words: "This is the time of fulfillment; The king-
dom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the
Gospel." Jesus has begun his three years public
ministry by setting out to fulfill his mission among
the People of God. The kingdom of God is no eso-
teric, celestial dwelling up in the sky. Rather it
lives among us right here and right now!
The sacred season of Lent is time for repent-
ance and to discover the "Good News" among
us. Oftentimes, when I encounter a teenager in our
parish, he or she feels unfulfilled for many rea-
sons. A young couple in their first five years of
marriage may experience lack of fulfillment for
a lack of clear communication. A grandparent may
feel no fulfillment because he has not seen his
grandchildren since last year. Jesus calls all family
members and friends to renew themselves spiritual-
ly during this season of Lent. We can all strive for
holiness this Lent through prayer, regular confes-
sion, spiritual reading and participating in group
activities on Zoom or other social media sites to
bring the Kingdom of God among us! In this twen-
ty first year of this twenty first century, let us reach
out to someone or some persons who are not mind-
ful that the kingdom of God is truly among us.

Financial Transparency and Financial Accountability
Dear parishioners and friends!
ish finance council and select members of the parish
council, I have decided to issue a financial report of the
first half of the parish fiscal year from July 1, 2020 to
December 31, 2020. The financial highlights will include
offertory income and parish net income and cash availa-
ble for operations. This report will include how we are
now as compared to last fiscal year. It will be no surprise
that we were in better financial health last fiscal year
than our current fiscal year.
I am issuing this report for two reasons. First, to be
transparent to the parish community who has gone out of
their way to keep the parish finances alive and well dur-
ing the pandemic. I am ever so grateful for your gener-
osity. Second, to make all of us accountable by helping to
improve the financial health of our parish for the future.
Many parishes and many other dioceses throughout the
nation are undergoing similar concerns. However, I would
like us to have an action plan for our financial fu-
ture. Whether we care to admit it or not, things will not
go back to normal as we hope for. Times have changed
and so must we adapt to these changes. I like to call
ourselves--faithful realists who are not naive optimists
nor frantic pessimists! I will issue this report by early
March which will welcome your responses plus ask you
to enroll in online giving or increase your online giving. I
have asked Bill Donnelly to be my right hand man to en-
sure this pursuit of transparency and accountability. He
is both the chairperson of the parish finance council and
the school board.
I will also include Holly Foley, chairperson of our par-
ish council in our deliberations. I would like to get as
much input from our lay leaders to meet our financial
challenges which will result in worthwhile solutions and
potential tough choices.
We are all in this together. We have come this far--
let us complete this journey together as sisters and
brothers of the same God!

St. Francis Builds 40 Desks Thanks to the generosity of donors and the hard work of Carole Coaxum, Steve Smith, Gavin Helf and Terry Sabonis and many other volunteers, St. Francis Builds completed 40 desks for students who need a place to call their own for virtual classwork. We are so grateful to all involved, and are hopeful that the desks will be useful even in light of planning to return to regular classrooms!
MULTILINGUAL STATIONS OF THE CROSS Every Friday during Lent – 7PM
We will continue the annual tradition of the Multilingual Stations of the Cross on each Friday evening of the season of Lent starting at 7pm. Due to public health reasons, we will strictly enforce social distancing during these Stations of the Cross! All participants must stay in the pews and be at least six feet apart unless they are with their immediate family members. The leader and language readers will be separate near the pulpit. The only one moving will be the Cross Bearer going from Station to Station. Keep in mind that only 25 percent capacity will be allowed into the Church. Thank you for your understanding!

Many of us have experienced the suffering and loss of a loved one as a result of Covid-19 and
have been left with the pain and the absence of saying a proper goodbye. Our parish St. Camil- lus wishes to honor the lives of those loved ones
who have passed away this past year. For this reason, we will create a photo slideshow that will be displayed on the TV screen at the entrance of the church on Good Friday, April 2nd. If you would like a photo of a relative who died from

Virtual Workshop for Parents Thursdays, March 4 – March 25 2021
Every Thursday, March 4 through March 25 from 7:00pm– 8:00pm the Office for Family Life in collaboration with the Christian Family Movement will be offering a four-week virtual workshop series for parents. Topics will include recognizing God in our families, using our time faithfully, caring for our relationships, faith-building customs and activities, and guiding our children to live for Christ. HELP SENIOR CITIZENS GET VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS Many of our senior citizen parishioners have voiced their frustrations in securing an ap- pointment to get vaccinated from Covid-19. One of our new parishioners has offered a unique way to help elderly parishioners to navigate through these bureaucratic waters. Her name is Dr. Ann Bowers-Evangelista, Psy.D, MBA. She is inviting some of our more advanced, tech savvy parishioners to work with her to help seniors secure appointments. She has devised an email address called stcamillusdrive@gmail.com which she will respond to legitimate requests. She is a highly trained psychologist and can tell the differ- ence among those who contact her. She has a spreadsheet but does not want to make it public in order to protect your privacy. I fully endorse and welcome Dr. Bowers-Evangelista's wonderful offer to help. Transparencia y Responsabilidad Financiera ¡Queridos feligreses y amigos! Después de recientes conversaciones con miembros del Consejo Financiero Parroquial y miembros selectos del Consejo Parroquial, he decidido presentar un repor- te financiero de la primera mitad del año fiscal parro- quial del 1 de julio, 2020 al 31 de diciembre, 2020. Grupos Semanales de Intercambio de Fe Via Zoom Muchos de nosotros nos sentimos aislados estos días debido a la pandemia del COVID porque no podemos reunirnos con otros feligreses y familiares como solíamos hacerlo. Por este motivo, en esta Cuaresma estamos ofre- ciendo una oportunidad semanal de compartir la fe. Será un mo- mento para comentar juntos el evangelio para la siguiente misa dominical. De una manera muy simple, leeremos el evan- gelio y luego compartiremos nuestras respuestas indivi- duales a las siguientes preguntas:
• ¿Qué me conmueve más en esas lecturas? ¿Qué me atrae más o me inquieta, me emociona o me llama la atención por cualquier motivo?
• ¿Qué está tratando de decirme el Señor a través de estas lecturas?
• ¿Qué clase de respuesta espera el Señor de mí?
Las reglas para las sesiones de compartir la fe son muy simples:
• Hablar sobre sus propios pensamientos y sentimien- tos de su experiencia personal
• Escuchar con un corazón abierto lo que otros compar- ten
• ¡No debates! No estamos aquí para contradecir lo que los demás dicen; sino más bien compartir lo que es- cuchamos al Señor decirnos personalmente
• Una persona habla a la vez. Puedes indicar tu deseo de compartir escribiendo tu nombre en el cuadro de chat (lo explicaremos en la primera sesión - ¡es fácil!)
