INTRODUCTION
University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College are proud to co-host the third annual Cor Van Raay Agribusiness Case Competition. This unique competition is the first of its kind in Western Canada.
The event is tailored for college and university undergraduate students from Lethbridge College, University of Lethbridge, and other post-secondary institutions outside of Lethbridge. The students are in a range of disciplines, including Agricultural Studies, Business Administration, Commerce, and Management programs.
The two-day event allows students the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional development activities that will strengthen their teamwork, problem solving, and networking skills. These activities include applying their theoretical knowledge to develop a solution for the chosen case; practising their presentation and public speaking skills; networking with industry professionals, sponsors, faculty, and students; and enhancing their understanding of commodity trading through an interactive simulation.
Participation in the Cor Van Raay Agribusiness Case Competition exposes students to the industry of agriculture. The event offers numerous opportunities to learn valuable information about the business of agriculture and potential career options. As well, students will gain practical experience and transferable skills.
