News Assessment

In week 6 (14th-18th November) the students are to present special news. The topic is ‘My Family’. Studentscan use props to help them with news, for example palm cards, a cardboard with pictures, a PowerPointpresentation or a photo album. The presentation should not be longer than 2 minutes.

What they need to say: How many people in their family

Who is in their family

Cultural background

Things they enjoy doing together as a family

Students will be assessed on: Content of presentation

Volume (using a loud voice) Eye contact (looking at audience)

Year 1 Homework Term 4

You child is required to do 30 minutes of homework every day.

Each night for homework they need to:

1. Copy the spelling words once

2. Complete one spelling activity

3.

Complete part of the Math Mentals (1 unit per week only)

4. Read their Home Reader (they can swap books daily)

Homework will be given every Monday and should be ready to hand to their teacher on Friday . Week News topic
