Grade 6 Farewell Dinner-Thursday Evening

Lets hope no tears will be shed at Thursday’s Grade 6

Farewell function. Perhaps I should keep Mrs Hunter and

Mrs Bould away!

This illustrious event promises to be a fitting finale for a

top bunch of kids, with a deeeeelicious cake, scrummy

dinner, crazy DVD and disco fever, part of the

festivities.

The show kicks off at 6pm and concludes 9pm.

Our appreciation is extended to the organising committee

for putting in the hard yards for our graduates.

Under 7s Swimming Carnivals-Wednesday & Friday

Togs, towels and sun protection will be the order of the

PSSA carnival for ages 8 years and above, will take to the

water for their very own carnival. On Wednesday, events

commence shortly after 9:30am and conclude at 11am.

Friday’s program begins at 9:30am and concludes 12:30pm.

Our thanks to organising teacher, Miss Wilms.

Lovely Email About Isabel’s Osborne at Debating

From Sue Radywonik -Assistant Principal- Barham PS

I am emailing you to let you know of Izzy's enthusiasm and

commitment whilst she was participating at the State

Debating Competition earlier this week.

She was a pleasure to coach and, as she listened

attentively to the comments of the adjudicators and any

suggestions that I gave, was able to adapt to a new role in

the debating team and be pivotal in the wins we had in the

latter part of the competition. Her debating ability was

recognised and commented upon by each of the coaches

that our team debated.

She also worked very well with the team and made many

new friends during the time she was at Collaroy.

Please pass on my congratulations to everyone involved in

her debating training at school.

Kind regards

Cottage By The Sea Report

From Teacher: Miss Hughes

CBTS 2012 was a fantastic excursion and the

children had a blast despite a bit of Gastro going

around. I was extremely proud of them all. Their

behaviour all week was fantastic. They showed 100%

positive behaviour. They were respectful not just

towards me and CBTS staff, but also towards the

general public on public transport and in public places.

One V-Line ticket inspector praised the children for

their behaviour as he said "These kids were

exceptional...best behaved bunch of kids". I

mentioned this to the children and they were really

proud of themselves. The children's bravery,

courage, persistence and teamwork skills really

impressed me too. They all had a go at new activities

they had never tried before like surfing, low ropes,

light house climbing. They didn't give up and by the

end of the week they discovered new things they

could do that they couldn't do before. The most

important thing that came out of the camp was that

they had fun.

Have a great week!

Chris Hogan

Visitors to the school will be impressed by our latest addition. Each classroom and the library, have a new display board, courtesy of the ‘Clever Climate Energy Savers’ program. The boards currently hold an environmental message, with posters designed during class lessons, either by the class or by individuals or student groups. Pictured at left, is Sophie Stringer, the clever designer of the ‘hot’ poster outside 4/5S. The school’s environmental watchdog, Miss Smith, coordinated the poster production, and with help from Hoges’ eagle-eye, ensured they were all spirit-level straight in their new homes.
