“ The car park attendant” “El gorrilla is the kind of person you see when you go to park your car in a public car park. He or she (It is usually a man) helps you to park your car but when you leave your car “el gorrilla” is expecting some money. You shoud be careful with them because there are some of them who can damage your car. There are a lot of “gorrillas” in Spain, and now with the crisis their number has increased.

“The Sybarite”

A person whose chief interests are luxury and the gratification of sensual appetites. I met a person last year when I was working at a hotel. He asked me where he could buy a bottle of water of a Dutch brand. I sent him to El Corte Inglés shopping centre, but he came back in a bad mood for having walked for ten minutes and not finding it!

The Basque people.They are serious, cold and reserved..They are famous for eaing a lot of food and drinking rivers of wine. They live in big houses in the mountain, and they spend their time hunting animals, fishing, cutting firewood and raising big heavy stones and they think they are the best, they have the most and they are the most handsome. They are so proud...!!...In addition to that, they always wear a black beret on their heads to protect them from the rain and the cold, the weather always present in the towns were they live. And the worst thing that they do is to speak a very very strange language that they have invented not to be understood by the rest of the people out from their land...!!

“The fussy one”It is a person who likes giving careful attention to all the details. They are also obsessed with cleanliness and food. Normally this kind of people are very demanding on the others. In additiion, they want everything to be done as they say. In my opinion they are very irritating.

The “Ni-Ni”“Ni-Ni” stands for “ni estudia ni trabaja” (literally, neither works nor studies). They are mostly boys.The Ni-Ni is an older teenager who lacks motivation for improving his position. He lives at the expense of his parents but he spends most of his time just sitting around in the park benches, with his gang, not doing anything productive and smoking joints quite often. He’s usually rude and has an aggressive behavior.The Ni-Ni always wears a tracksuit and a cap, and a hooded sweatshirt in cold weather.

The posh”The word means rich, aristocratic, wealthy, toffee nosed, upper crust, well off, or well to do. Very classy or sophisticated.In a manner associated with the upper class: " to talk posh". They say "yah" instead of "yes“, for example.The way they dress:Posh people are stylish, wear good quality clothing, like to show others the good life and how they live.They usually wear Moschino, Dior,Ralph Laurent,Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Burberry....They wear Ray Ban, Armani, Dolce Gabanna sunglasses. They carry very big and expensive bags, like Louis Vuitton ,Versace, Prada...They drive Mercedes, BMW...

The perfect housewifeThe perfect housewife is a woman who lives only for her home and her family. She has a perfectly clean house with shiny floors and everything is neat ant fragrant. She is a wonder cook and she is always willing to do everything for her family at home. But she has a problem: if someone steps on any surface that has just been cleaned she’ll get furious. At her home you cannot touch anything, you cannot mess up or dirty anything. In short: at her home you cannot live.

“A man alone at home”“Rodríguez” is the usual name we give to a man who stays at home while the rest of the family is on holidays. The “Rodríguez” has to do some housework like cooking, cleaning, tidying and other things he just hates. In the beginning he can feel happy, he’s excited at the thought of doing nothing, but the time runs against him. He likes to laze about and spends a lot of time watching TV. He isn’t aware of the consequences and his house looks like a tip. He avoids telling the family what is happening and he just says “ I can manage very, very well but sometimes I miss you”

“The Civil Servant”It’s a person who has a public job. If a person wants to access to this kind of job it’s necessary to pass difficult exams and compete with a lot of people. When someone achieves it, they have assured the job for their entire working life. Maybe because of all this, some ‘funcionarios’ become lazy. So they are late at work in the morning and leave earlier than they shoud. Some of them are more active and they spend their time playing cards on the computer, phoning family and friends or having endless breakfasts.On some occasions, you are in a interminable queue waiting for a ‘funcionario’ during a long, long time, and you can see how ‘el funcionario’ comes back with his/her bags from the supermarket. In case you have to deal with this kind of ‘funcionario’, be patient.Fortunately, not all ‘funcionarios’ are like that.

“ The Fishwife”A woman who is dedicated to her house and family.She is usually from the lower class and has little schooling. At home she always wears her dressing gown and rollers in her hair, sometimes she even goes to buy the bread like this. When she goes out, she dresses up , but not with much style. And above all she loves gossiping with her neighbours and friends and even strangers, and she watches soap operas. Although this description is derogatory, she also has a natural talent for being witty and always helps her neighbours when they need it.

Generally speaking el “Niño de Papá” is a boy/girl with high economic class. They are usually a single son or daughter and have a distorted sense of reality because their life is more comfortable than others.They have expensive clothes because they like expensive things. They study in expensive schools. They’re really selfish and self-centred.They do everything they want because it is usual for them and their parents give them everything they want. When they want something it has to be the best.

“The handyman”

The “manitas” is a person, usually a man, who is supposed to mend different kinds of problems at home. This person can repair a machine or paint a wall or make a table, but sometimes “the manitas” doesn’t succeed, because he’s not a real professional.

“The Anorak”

“El pesao” is a person who shows a great interest in himself or herself. Usually this person talks a lot about his or her life, problems, hobbies or if they’re happy or not, although you are in a hurry or have a lor of work to do. You’ll never have a chance to run away:.

The Chav"Macarra" is a Spanish word which is normally used to define a thug. This kind of people tend to behave aggressively and insolently. In fact, some of them have troubles with the law. "Macarras" often use basic clothes like boots and leather jackets. However, nowadays, it's also common to see them wearing tracksuits and trainers. Generally, they have a neglected appearance. Most of them have tattoos and wear earrings. They like to modify their cars and to play music at full blast. Their favourite kinds of music are mainly "bakalao" and hardcore music."Macarras" also use scooters as transportation and make noise with them. They don't care if that is annoying for other people.

“The smart alec”

A man or woman who only acts in his or her own interests and thinks that if he or she doesn’t respect the rules, he or she are more intelligent than the other people. For example, a “listo” is that person who parks his or her car in a place for disable people or jumps the queue.
