Saturday, 18 FEB 2017 features Parshat Yitro. During the morning we hear the Ten Commandments, Tidewater synagogues jointly acknowledge the importance of the Beth Sholom Village for our community. KBH plans to build a wall of honor with pictures of your parent(s) and how a parental experience/event/attribute effects your actions and positively reflects upon your parent’s teachings. You may either e-mail photos and anecdotes to [email protected], or bring them to the Tidewater Together brunch on 05 FEB 2017. Open to children of all ages (everyone is a son/daughter) and to those living down the hall or on another continent. Let’s fill the wall before 18 February 2017!

Join us in the KBH social hall for Game Night at 7:00 PM on Saturday, 04 MAR 2017. Enjoy some light snacks while participating in games such as Pictionary and Jewish Trivia.

We still seek volunteers to help with the annual art auction on Sunday, 19 MAR 2017. Duties include help cleaning before and after the auction; setting up and taking down tables and chairs; kitchen help to include cooking and serving; setting up food and drinks; contacting previous donors and congregation members; working the door and collecting ticket money; keeping the parking lot lanes clear and directing overflow parking; unloading and reloading the art truck; art runners; seeking locations to accept our posters; taking materials to other local synagogues and religious establishments; tracking art purchases; collecting payments; selling tickets; and getting advertisements for the art book. The art auction is our only major fundraiser that reaches out beyond our synagogue participants. To lend your support, please contact Ms. Savransky at (757) 639-4213 / [email protected]. You may leave a voice mail message. KBH hosts its next Shabbat Experience for Families on Friday, 24 FEB 2017, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM. The evening consists of Shabbat-inspired games, songs, stories, prayers, and a child-friendly dinner designed for the 7 and under person and their families. $15 per adult, with children free. Please RSVP by 20 FEB 2017 to [email protected] or via the U.S. Mail. Kindly include the names and ages of children and your phone number and/or e-mail address.
