Serving with Faith and Love March 2019
Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Talofa, Malo e lelei, Namaste, Bula, Malo ni, Makadini, Annyoung, Witamy, Welcome,
A very warm welcome to St Joseph’s Schools
It doesn’t matter which St Joseph’s School we belong to we are all one family.
St Joseph’s Feast Day
This term the school will be celebrating St Joseph’s Feast day with two other St Joseph’s Schools. On
Tuesday 19th March, the whole school will be going to St Joseph’s Onehunga for a combined Mass and
sports activities. We will be leaving school at 9.00 am and returning at 1.00 pm. The invitation is open to
parents if they wish to join us, though we will need to know numbers if you wish to travel on the bus with
us, as there is a limit.
Ash Wednesday Mass
Ash Wednesday mass was very special for Room 4 as they were the leaders for this Mass.
Dedication Mass Every year all Catholic schools in Auckland get together for a special dedication Mass with Bishop Pat Dunn
at Christ the King in Owairaka. This year Dr Girardet took our school candle up to the altar to be blessed by
Bishop Pat.
Basketball
Our basket season has started. This year we have entered one year 5/6 team. A great thank you to our coach Jo Kailahi-Fulu, manager Frank Fuimoano and all the parent support.
Assemblies and Certificates Room 4 directed our assembly. Congratulations to Oscar and Augustine who were the MC’s. We have some great aspiring leaders in our school.
Certificates Congratulations to all our hard working students.
Tuakana Teina There is a very special bond with our students. Every Room 1 child that comes into our school has a student from Room 5 that they can turn to whenever they need help, support or just to play with.
Born to Move Every Friday morning we are lucky to have Les Mills come in to take all our classes for the Born to Move
programme. The joy on the children’s faces is heart-warming.
News from your Board
Can you help?
We are looking for someone who would be able to take minutes at all of our board meetings.
They occur twice a term for 2 hours on a Wednesday evening.
If you are interested, please contact the office or the principal for further details.
Birthdays
Happy Birthday to our March birthdays; Melefina Kilisimasi, Tiana McGregor and Ellery Smith.
May God always keep you close to His heart.
