Does Sex Sell?

• For this project, I’ve decided to record, analyze, and upload 5 commercials seen on TV. These 5 commercials all attempted to use sex to sell their products.

• I then asked my female friend (pink slides) and my male friend (blue slides) several questions regarding the effectiveness of the ads and their opinions about them.

• Would you buy the hamburger?

• No, I found the commercial to be really dumb. It lasted way to long and actually made me angry.

Questions Answers

• Do the sexual themes in this commercial help sell the product?

• In this particular instance it doesn’t sell for me. I think it makes me want to avoid Carl’s Jr. even more than I already do.• Evaluate the Effectiveness of this

Ad.• Ineffective for me, but I

could see how it could be effective for people who like that kind of stuff, like men. Overall, I would say it is effective.

• Would you buy the hamburger?

• Yes, the fact that Kate Upton was sweating made me want to try that hamburger. I enjoy spicy foods.

because of the people they use. Both attractive men and females to attract both sexes.
