Un Mensaje de Nuestro Pastor
Pueblo de Dios, ¡Espero que estén bien y en paz! Los Cristianos intentan siempre ser como Jesús. En el evangelio del Domingo, Él tiene otra conversación importante y tenemos muchas de estas aquí en estos dias, hablando de Todos los Santos y los Días de Todos los Difuntos, también Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe y las Posadas, y cómo ofrecer formación en la fe en el nuevo año, preguntas ¡Cómo sobrevivimos como una parroquia! Por favor, no se quede callado; involucrarse. Tendrán que vivir con lo que decidimos, aunque hay una mejor razón para hacerlo: Dios quiere la Comunión. En el evangelio, a Jesús se le preguntó qué mandamiento es el mayor y, como todos saben, Él responde como el Domingo pasado y dice más. “Dar a Dios lo que es de Dios” significa “Amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con toda tu mente” porque todo le pertenece a Él. Sabemos que todo lo que tenemos y somos es un regalo y lo mostramos en acción. Le debemos a César / nuestra comunidad porque "Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo". Nos debemos algo el uno al otro y no somos completamente nosotros mismos si nos ignoramos. Cada persona es un regalo de Dios para nosotros, una manera de conocer y ser como Dios mientras "esperamos a su Hijo del cielo, a quien resucitó de entre los muertos, Jesús, que nos libera de la ira venidera". El Señor los bendiga y los fortalezca a todos y les dé paz en estos días. -P. Tom
A Message from our Pastor
God’s people,
I hope y’all stay well and at peace! Christians try always to be like Jesus. In Sunday’s gospel, He has another important conversation and we’ve lots of those happening here- talk-ing about All Saints and All Souls Days, also Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Posadas, and how to offer faith formation in the new year, questions of how we survive as a parish! Please do not be silent; get involved. You’ll have to live with what’s decided, though there’s a better reason to do it- God wants Communion.
In the gospel, Jesus was asked which commandment is the greatest and, as you know, He answers like last Sunday and says more. To “give to God what belongs to God” means “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” because it all belongs to Him. We know all we have and we are is gift and we show it in action. We owe Caesar/ our community because “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” We owe each other something and aren’t fully ourselves if we ignore each other. Each person is God’s gift to us, a way for us to know and be like God while we “await his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.“

DAY OF THE DEAD ALTAR The pandemic has forced the Altar Society to change the setup of the traditional altar for the Day of the Dead at St. Patrick. There will be very limited space on the Altar for photos this year. Therefore a slideshow will be made to include an image of your deceased loved ones. Please email a photo of your deceased loved one by Wed., Oct. 28th to: [email protected] If you do not have email you can stop by the office, Tuesday - Friday, from 10 am to 6 pm, and a staff member will scan the photo. The collection of electronic images of your deceased loved ones will be projected on a screen Oct. 31 - Nov 2. If you are not able to email a photo, special pages will be available the weekend of October 24 - 25, where you may write the name of your deceased loved ones.

ALTAR DEL DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS La pandemia ha obligado a la Sociedad Altar a cambiar la configuración del tradicional altar del Día de los Muertos en San Patricio. Este año habra muy limitado
espacio para fotos. Por lo tanto, se hará una resentación de diapositivas para incluir una imagen de sus seres queridos fallecidos. Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process which Adults participate in to prepare to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, or Eucharist. Zoom Classes on Sundays and in person

CAFÉ CATHOLICA LITE: Nov. 19 The next Café Catholica Lite will be held online on Nov. 19, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The talk will be about "Blessed Karl of Austria, Emperor of Peace" and will include a personal witness of this kingly saint-to-be by Archduchess Maria-Anna of Austria, Princess Galitzine, the granddaughter of Blessed Karl. The night will also include a brief history refresher by Dr. Christopher Wolfe from the University of St. Thomas. In addition to the talk and Q&A, we will end with communal prayer. This page will be updated with information about the ongoing relief efforts in Beaumont and Lake Charles. Adoration for Vocations: Please join us for Eucharistic Adoration, Adoration by Candlelight.
