Message from the Pastor Welcome to St. Ambrose ! We are so glad you are able to join us today to celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Easter! ‘The Lord is my shepherd.’ How often have we sung this Psalm or heard it read and repeated the response? Its words are so familiar that sometimes we might not even think about what we are saying or singing. But the image of Jesus as shepherd is worth reflecting on, especially on Good Shepherd Sunday. Four years ago on Holy Thursday, Pope Francis caused a bit of a stir when he urged bishops and priests to get to know their flocks, and to be like shepherds who smell of their sheep’: ‘This I ask you: be shepherds, with the “odor of the
sheep”, make it real, as shepherds among your flock.’ The vivid image captured the imagination of many who heard it. But in evoking the metaphor of shepherd, Pope Francis was echoing the language of the Gospel reading we hear today, when Jesus describes himself as the good shepherd who knows his sheep. Jesus tells us that sheep recognize the voice of their shepherd, and that is why they follow hm. This kind of trust could only be gained by a shepherd who handles his sheep, feeds them, and protects them—to the extent that he smells like them. That’s how well Jesus knows us, and it is because of how intimately he knows us, how much he has sacrificed for us, and how well he cares for us, that we are able to love and follow him in return. Upon entering the little country store, the stranger noticed a sign saying “DANGER! BEWARE OF DOG!” posted on the glass door. Inside he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor beside the
cash register. He asked the store manager, “Is THAT the dog we are supposed to beware of?” “Yep, that’s him,” he replied. The stranger couldn’t help but be amused. “That certainly doesn’t look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?” “Because,” the owner replied, “before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him.”

PARISH ORGANIZATIONS ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT & PRAYERS FOR THE SICK— Wednesday 6:45—8 pm. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS — Every Monday evening at 7:30 pm in the Downstairs Parish Hall. ANNIVERSARY MASS — All Wedding Anniversaries for the month will be celebrated on the Last Sunday of the month at the 10:30 am Mass. Please call the Rectory Office to provide your name and anniversary date at least one week prior to the Anniversary Mass. Next Date: May 28th. BAPTISM — By appointment only. Would You Like To Become A Eucharistic Minister? It takes a special calling and maybe God is calling you. There are certain requirements that are required of you. You need to be a registered member of St. Ambrose Church for at least one year. You must have made your Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation and present us with an updated Baptismal Certificate. You need to have a strong and abiding Faith that causes you to attend mass on a weekly basis. If you have the above qualities and would like to know more about being a part of this ministry, please call Scott Scovin at 561-306-8860 leave your name, phone number and the time of the St. Ambrose mass that you regularly attend and he will contact you. Thank you for your consideration.
Marriage Preparation All registered couples who wish to be married in a Catholic ceremony in Saint Ambrose church must first meet with Father Dalton or Father Dariusz in preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage. It is advisable that couples not set a firm date for the
wedding until they have attended this meeting. At this meeting, the Parish Marriage Ministry will explain the importance of the sacrament of marriage and the Archdiocesan Rules and Parish Guidelines. Individual appointments and confirmed dates for marriage will not be set until after you attend this session. SAINT AMBROSE FOOD PANTRY Thank you to our Food Pantry Volunteers. Every Thursday morning from 8 am to 10 am, distributing food to the needy and homeless of our area. Thanks to all who respond so generously to our requests.
Although many answer our call, the need is still great. Please remember the food baskets and poor boxes as you leave Church. The poor and needy are always among us. Thank you for caring.
PARKING – HELP! We know parking becomes more difficult during the season and even worse during the Carnival but we need your help. Please park only in designated parking spaces. Do not block entrances or exits. Please do not block the entrances to the basketball court, and leave the designated handicapped parking spaces for those who are truly handicapped!

Contribution Statements for Tax Purposes St. Ambrose does not automatically send out tax statements to all parishioners automatically, but we would be more than happy to supply you with your statement upon your request. If you would like to receive your statement, please call the Rectory Office at 954-427-2225. Please call early, have your name and account number ready. Letters will be sent out within two weeks of your request. No donation amounts will be given over the phone.
