SAINTS AND SPECIAL OBSERVANCES Sunday: The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ; Father’s Day Monday: Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time; St. Romuald Wednesday: St. Aloysius Gonzaga; Summer begins Thursday: St. Paulinus of Nola; Ss. John Fisher and Thomas More Friday: The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Saturday: The Nativity of St. John the Baptist

Message from the Pastor Welcome to St. Ambrose ! We are so glad you are able to join us today to celebrate The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. TRUST IN JESUS: Today’s feast celebrates another central mystery of our faith—the mystery of the Eucharist. Like the mystery of the Trinity, the real presence of the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist can never be fully understood, but can only be believed. Just as the Israelites in the desert were invited to put their trust in God’s word to them, we are invited to trust wholly in the word of Jesus. In today’s Gospel Jesus promises to give us a share in his very own flesh and blood, and a share in eternal life besides. We are called to

take him at his word and open our hearts to receive true nourishment and life from our participation in the Eucharist.

Have a wonderful week—stay well. Please keep me in your prayers as you all are always in mine.

Pastor’s Musing Sixteen-year–old Jimmy had just received his driver’s license. To celebrate, the whole family trooped out to the driveway and climbed into the car for his inaugural drive. Dad immediately headed to the

back seat, directly behind the newly minted driver. “I’ll bet you’re back there to get a change of scenery after all those months of sitting in the front seat teaching me how to drive,” said the beaming boy to his old man. “Nope,” came dad’s reply, “I’m gonna sit back here and kick the back of your seat while you drive, just like you have been doing to me for the sixteen years.”

What Makes A Dad God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea. The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle’s flight. The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need.

Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it … Dad.
