Fatima Devotions
Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children at Fatima in Portugal for six consecutive months from May to October. The appointed day was the 13th of each month. She again requested them to pray the Rosary each day.

Each evening of the 13th will consist of Mass, a Rosary Procession, and an opportunity for meditation. The night will conclude with a social gathering in the lower church hall. • NWEA Map testing began for grades 2-8. Students are tested in Reading, Language, Science, and Math. Teachers use the collected data to guide individualized instruction of students.

• The students are currently collecting nonperishable food donations for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, located in the basement of the church rectory.
Again this week we hear of Paul and his companion Barnabas, speaking out boldly about the word of God. When they met opposition among their ancestors, they took their message to the Gentile communities. The key to evangelization is in the last line of the passage: “The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit”. Perhaps an odd reaction to being “expelled from the territory” but, not an odd reaction to sharing the story of God’s love for us and Jesus’ gift of salvation. Try sharing the good news with another and notice the joy it gives you.
Sunday Reflection
The Sacred Hearts Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank all who have donated food, toiletries, and candle offerings these last few months. With your help we have fed families, prevented 2 family’s evictions, provided oil for 2 families and 50 Christmas and Easter meals to needy families.
The need for food and other help is ongoing and any donation you are able to give will help us serve God’s people. You may give a donation to us in the candle offering box, in an envelope marked SVdP in the weekly collection, or by mailing an offering to the rectory at 297 Main Street, Malden 02148. Please specify SVdP on the envelope. As we hear the Gospels about loving your neighbor, know that SVdP is there helping the stranger. With your donation you stand there with us doing God’s work.
We have a special request. A homeless family (a single father and 6-year-old son) recently received a home and are in need of bedding and towels. Good quality used blankets, quilts, comforters, sheets and towels would be most appreciated. Size twin or full/queen. Please bring to rectory or drop off at the rear of the church. Any cleaning supplies would also be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Nuevamente esta semana escuchamos de Pablo y su compañero Bernabé, hablando con valentía acerca de la Palabra de Dios. Cuando encuentran oposición entre sus compatriotas, ellos llevan el mensaje a las comunidades de gentiles. La clave de la evangelización está en la última línea del texto: “los discípulos quedaron llenos de gozo y del Espíritu”. Tal vez sea una extraña reacción al ser “expulsado del territorio” pero no una extraña reacción para compartir la historia del amor de Dios hacia nosotros y el don de Jesús para salvarnos. Trata de compartir la Buenas Nueva con otra persona y nota la alegría que esto trae.
