Happy New Year!
Every parent can relate to this Gospel. The thought of a child getting lost, no matter their age brings anxiety and stress! The relief of Mary and Joseph is palpable in this passage even though the 12-year-old Jesus acts surprised about his parents’ concern. However, what is most important to glean from this gospel is the fact that upon returning to Nazareth, Jesus “was obedient to them; and. . . Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor.” Their years together provided important time for growth for the Holy Family. The vocation of parents, grandparents and guardians is both rewarding
and challenging. Take time to think about the example of the Holy Family and let them be a source of strength for you and for all families.

Todos los padres pueden identificarse con este Evangelio. ¡La idea de que un niño se pierda, sin importar su edad, trae ansiedad y estrés! El alivio de María y José es palpable en este pasaje a pesar de que Jesús, de 12 años, se muestra sorprendido por la preocupación de sus padres. Sin embargo, lo más importante de extraer de este evangelio es el hecho de que al regresar a Nazaret, Jesús “les obedeció; y. . . Jesús avanzó en sabiduría, edad y favor.” Los años que pasaron juntos proporcionaron un tiempo importante para el crecimiento de la Sagrada Familia. La vocación

St. Vincent de Paul’s Donation Request for December
Thank you so much for your continued support. Your generosity has allowed us to continue to help those in need during the pandemic. You stand with us as we help our neighbors in need. For December we would like staples such as sugar, flour, oil, coffee and tea. For toiletries we need toothbrushes. These donations may be left at the back of the church. Monetary donations may be placed in the collection plate in an envelope marked SVdP or mailed to the rectory marked SVdP.

Dear Parishioners, Merry Christmas 2021! Happy feast of the Holy Family 2021! The birth of the Child Jesus is an opportunity to allow ourselves to meet the God who loves us, who comes out to meet us in the simplicity and innocence of a newborn child, in the warmth of a family, in the tenderness of a mother and dad’s embrace. Let us rejoice and feel the joy of being loved by the God of peace! We keep close to our hearts, in a special way, all those who for one reason or another are going through difficult times, feel alone, dejected, helpless, without hope. May our prayer and solidarity allow us to get closer to them and make this journey of life together. Thanks to all who have made it possible for our church and common areas to shine the joy of Christmas. May God reward your efforts and collaboration. This last week of 2021 let's dedicate ourselves to pray for the families of our community, taking advantage of the feast of the Holy Family, which we celebrate this Sunday, December 26. We invite everyone to join us for our Thanksgiving Mass on Friday, December 31st, at the 4pm, in English and 7pm, in Spanish. Even in the midst of the difficulties that we may be going through, it is always good to have a space and a moment to thank the God of life and history for all that he gives us and for all that he invites us to share. Let's take advantage of these days that Christmas gives us to share with our loved ones. El nacimiento del Niño Jesús es una oportunidad para dejarnos encontrar con el Dios que nos ama, que sale a nuestro encuentro en la sencillez e inocencia de un niño recién nacido, en el calor de familia, en la ternura del abrazo de una madre y un padre. ¡Alegrémonos y sintamos el júbilo de ser amados por el Dios de la paz! Tenemos en nuestro corazón, de manera especial, a todos los que están pasando momentos difíciles, se sienten solos, abatidos, desamparados, sin esperanza. Que nuestra oración y solidaridad nos permita acercarnos a ellos y hacer este camino de vida juntos.
