TRAILL TALES CATHARINE PARR TRAILL COLLEGE TRENT UNIVERSITY SOCIAL SEPARATION EDITION VOLUME X | MAY 27, 2020 Going Squirrelly? Dear Traillites, I miss Spring. There used to be a time when there were four distinct seasons in this neck of the woods. As I write this, it is a very humid 30 degrees, although we had snow flurries just two weeks ago. It might be difficult to think about the Fall, but the university has just announced the four-stage Trent Forward plan here some facilities will be open and most courses will be made available online or via remote delivery. Please go to https://www.trentu.ca/coronavirus for more details. Regular readers will know that last Thursday we broadcast 3MT online for the first time. I am pleased to announce that with over 1200 views, and 345 online votes, the event had the largest audience participation in its eight-year history. Congratulations again to our eight contestants and a special shout-out to our two audience-selected winners: Roya Ghahremani with the TGSA First Runner Up Prize and Sasha Newar who won the Provost’s People’s Choice Award. Finally, I would like to wish a very happy birthday to Tom Symons, Trent University's founding President and ardent Traill supporter, who will be turning 91 this Saturday. Take care, Michael For the most up-to-date information on Trent University’s response to COVID-19 visit: https://www.trentu.ca/coronavirus/
