    1st-8th grade students will take Iowa Tests fromOctober 6-17.

    Please make every effort to have your child hereeach day and on time.

    We will begin promptly each morning.

    Its also important that your child:

    - Gets plenty of rest- Has a healthy breakfast- Has #2 pencils sharpened.- Brings in a healthy snack.- Has something quiet to do. (book, activity pages, etc.)- Relaxes as he/she feels confident and encouraged.

    HELPFUL Hints for the

    Iowa Tests

    Eat a good breakfast! Studies have shown that eating a good breakfast will help students

    perform to the best of their ability! They should eat a healthybreakfast the morning of the test (and every day!)

    Get a Good Nights sleep!

    A good nights sleep is always important - make sure students aregetting enough rest each night.

    listen, listen, listen! Many directions will be given before the test begins. These

    directions are meant to help the student be successful! In orderfor the directions to be helpful, the student needs to listen andfollow directions carefully!

    appointments during testing weeks! It is important that studentsare here during our testing weeks to minimize the need formake-up testing times!

    stay positive! Standardized tests like the IOWA are designed to help schools

    measure student and school progress. They are a diagnostic toolmeant to help many different people. They are a chance to showoff what you know! Do your best to stay positive during thesetesting weeks!

    Sports NewsFall athletics are off to a great start! The kids are showing great effortand playing hard in both soccer and volleyball. Come out and cheerfor your Rockets!

    Before we know it though, the winter sport season will be upon us. Ifyour child is interested in playing a winter sport, their registration, fees,concussion form, and physical must be in the school office prior to thefirst practice. Please use the packet available on the Athleticspage of the website. When taking your child to the doctor for theiryearly well visit, please remember to take a physical form with you. Ifyou forget, most offices will fill these forms out for you afterwards.However, they may charge you to do so. For physicals to count for

    CYO sports this school year, they must have been done after April 15,2014 .

    All Coaches - You MUST complete concussion training yearly. The link can be found on the Athletics page of the website. Please email or print and bring in yourcertificate to Mrs. Stager or Mrs. Furtah as soon as it iscompleted.
