It is with great joy and pride that we present our new event format “Connected Mobility”, which we have created in collaboration with Convent Kongresse GmbH. Over the next few months we hope to initiate exciting discussions regarding leading technology in the automobile industry on three different continents – Europe, Asia and America. Automobile manufacturers, suppliers, first movers in digital business, and start-ups will engage in this dialogue.

Following the rapid increase in the importance of intelligent mobility, Messe Frankfurt has this year created a new business sector: “Mobility and Logistics”. It is no coincidence that the supplier and the aftermarket exhibition Automechanika, the world’s leading exhibition market for automotive branches, recently presented with the German Brand Award, are at the core of this sector.

Main players in the mobility industry are currently re-evaluating their positions, for connected mobility promises huge potential: by 2020, the market for interconnected cars is expected to have increased by 45% – ten times the growth of the general auto-mobile market. It is estimated that in five years, three quarters of all new cars will be able to connect, and, from 2025, autonomic driving could be possible outside of protected areas.

By holding these events, we wish to stimulate open discussions on digital trends in the automobile industry and their con-sequences for society. We would like to warmly invite you to join us: whether in Frankfurt, Shanghai, or Austin as part of the unique festival South by Southwest.

Bill russo is the Shanghai-based Managing Director and Automotive practice leader at the Gao Feng Advisory Company. His over 30 years of experience includes 15 years as an automotive executive, including 12 years of experience in China and Asia. He has also worked nearly 12 years in the electronics and information technology industries. He has worked as an advisor and consultant for numerous multinational and local Chinese firms in the formulation and implementation of their global market and product strategies. While the Vice president of Chrysler North East Asia, he successfully negotiated agreements with partners and obtained required approvals from the China government to bring six new vehicle programs to the market in a three-year period, while concurrently establishing an infrastructure for local sourcing and sales distribution.

vincent rumeau is currently the Director, Strategy ApAC at TELENAV based in Shanghai, China. He aims to bring to the market the next generation driver experience to fulfil TELENAV’s mission.

prior to this position he was the Connected Car Senior Manager at pSA China and was responsible for the definition of the Connected Car & Business development & product strategy for China market through peugeot Citroen and DS brands. Mr Rumeau is investigating new innovation trends like IoT autonomous driving and new mobility solutions to assess how they could benefit the future of automobiles.

Mr Rumeau has proven experience of 15 years in the automobile industry from suppliers to OEM and quality to projects management and strategy roles.

tao Yu is the CEO and founder of Soda Mobility Tech, he has a reputation for his expertise in the car-sharing and intelligent mobility industry. Meanwhile, he is co-founder of FutureMove Tech. He built Soda Mobility from scratch with a passion for mobility innovation. Tao has rich product development experiences and an R&D background. In the past 16 years, Tao developed working experiences and insights into airplane, intelligent transportation, mobile-health and the connected-car industries. From 2006-2014, he worked for Microsoft as Chief Enterprise Architect in the IoT and telematics area. He has a proven track record of success in the Qoros-Qcloud project landing – the first connected car based on Azure cloud-computing technologies in China. Tao is also the author of Kinect in Action, which allows users to talk with a machine in a natural way.

香港生产力促进局 Dr lawrence Poon is the principal Consultant of Automotive parts and Accessory System R&D Centre and the Head of Automotive Unit of Hong Kong productivity Council. In recent years, Dr poon led a team of professional engineers and researchers with rich experiences in EV and automotive electronics system development. Dr poon is also the project manager and the principal investigator in more than 30 R&D projects related to green transportation, active safety as well as a series of smart mobility applications.

Dr poon is serving as Vice Chair of SAE HK and Section-Chair of HK Bio- & Eco- Energy Industry Association and Fellow of Green Strategy Association. He earned his doctoral degree in 2004.

Dr poon graduated with a first-class honour degree from Hong Kong polytechnic University’s (HKpolyU) Mechanical Engineering Department in 1998. In addition to his duties in HKpC and ApAS R&D Centre, he is a visiting lecturer at HKpolyU for a number of subjects related to automotive safety and reliability and product design.

潘志健 博士现为香港生产力促进局汽车部主管，专注参与多个汽车零部件研发的项目。在数年间由潘博士带领的团队已完成或正进行的研发项目超过15个，共产生超过10项专利。近年，潘博士 亦积极研发电动车及其相关的充电技术，并于本年中开始带领 生产力局的研发团队为香港本地市场开发适用于多层停车场内的 智慧充电站，为配合香港特区政府推动广泛使用电动车做好准备。

Dr thomas Meurers joined Continental Teves in Frankfurt am Main in Germany to develop new assistant functions for electronic brake systems. He continued his career at Continental in 2007 by moving to Veszprem, Hungary to take lead of the electronic brake systems SW group until 2009. This assignment was followed by a move to Shanghai, China to take the position of the electronic brake systems R&D Director at Continental. Returning to Lindau, Germany in 2012, he joined the newly founded business unit ADAS at Continental to take the lead for the “Validation & development services” section. In the beginning of 2016, Dr Meurers returned to China to manage the “VDA Office China” in Beijing.

aloke Palsikar heads the Manufacturing Vertical in Tech Mahindra and is based out of the corporate headquarters of Mahindra & Mahindra Group in Mumbai, India

Aloke has 28 years of experience working with the IT and manufacturing industries.

Recently, he has been instrumental in defining and implementing the digital strategy for the Vertical including specifically IoT and Connected products as well as Smart Factory initiatives around Industry 4.0. One of his career highlights was the successful handling of the Satyam crisis situation in 2009, in which he ensured a smooth transition to Tech Mahindra while he secured and retained almost every client relationship.

From 1987 to 2000, Aloke worked with Siemens in Europe and India and handled various senior management roles and responsibilities. Aloke was also Regional Head of Siemens Ltd in Hyderabad between 1996 and 2000.
