The first meeting of the project took place in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania

between the 8th of December and the 11th of December, 2016 at COLEGIUL

ENERGETIC.

The participants of the meeting were 4 teachers from Turkey, 5 teachers from

Portugal, 3 teachers from Italy, 4 teachers from Greece, and over 10 teachers from

Romania.

The main goal of the meeting was the organization of the project.

The project partners from

Turkey, Italy, Portugal and Greece

arrived at Râmnicu Vâlcea and

they were welcomed by the

Romanian team. The teachers

participated to an informal dinner,

where they had the chance to

make new friends.

The participants of the project were welcomed by the Headmaster of

Colegiul Energetic, teachers, students and local representatives. In the

introduction, the hosts welcomed the guests and the Romanian students

made a presentation about Romania, Râmnicu Vâlcea town, Colegiul Energetic

and informed the participants on the meeting program.

The groups of teachers from each country shared presentations of their

countries, cities, schools and educational systems. All teams impressed the

audience.

After the introduction of each country, the work session started. Each

team of teachers shared their expectations about the meeting and about the future activities of the project, posting all the information on a panel. The work session included:

• Organization of the project – goals of the project, tasks for each school;

• The Italian team pointed out the importance of the E-Twinning space and proposed to modify its content;

• The Turkish team decided to coordinate the webpage of the project;

• Dissemination plan.

Before lunch, the teachers were invited to participate on a lesson

about Romanian traditions. They were welcomed by the students with

bread and salt and Christmas carols. The students also offered gifts made

by them – origami ornaments and they were rewarded with carols.

VALCEA COUNTY LIBRARY

The work session continued at Vâlcea County Library with a

presentation, made by the history teacher Ovidiu Tănase, about

refugees in Romanian history and about the nowadays refugee crisis.

THE 9TH OF DECEMBER – LOGO & SLOGAN

CONTEST

Following the rules defined by the Turkish team, the LOGO and SLOGAN

contest took place. Each team from each country exposed 3 logos and 3

slogans and teachers from each country voted for the best logo and the best

slogan. It was a difficult choice, because all the logos and slogans were very

good and expressive.

The day started with a work session at Valcea County Library.

Mrs Oana Bădoiu presented the collaboration and partnership

between Colegiul Energetic and World Vision, concerning the refugees -

the project ”Helping Refugees”, the assistance centers for refugees

from Romania and its role in helping refugees in health, education,

social aspects.

The participants visited Sibiu, a cultural city

from Romania. The purpose of this visit was to

acknowledge the participants with information on

Romanian culture and values. The activity was also

to discover the historical part of the city.

After getting back to Râmnicu Vâlcea, all participants had to fill in an

evaluation form, regarding the activities performed during this reunion.

In conclusion, the meeting met its goals; the activities were held in a

relaxing atmosphere, where everybody enjoyed the time spent together, learning

and sharing precious information.
