Card-Tastic! 6 weeks £44.50 *1
This new class will equip students with the confidence to make your own greetings cards. No expensive kits necessary as all designs will be made from scratch using materials we all have at home. The course will look at “pop up” 3D collage designs and even painting! A “How To” leaflet is available from the tutor at a small cost to cover it’s printing and a kit list will be sent to all students who enrol.

Christmas Card-Tastic!6 weeks £44.50 *1
Each session of this new class will cover a different style of Christmas themed cards including cards with removable gifts e.g. fridge magnets or tree decorations. Students will design and produce pop up 3D cards and will look at delicate cut card, all using throw away materials. Lots of help and encouragement will be given along the way as students save money have seasonal fun and make cards that people will want to keep forever! No kit is required, but a “how to” sheet and additional materials are available direct from the tutor at a nominal cost

A Christmas Cracker!6 weeks £44.50 *1
Experience the satisfaction of making your own Christmassy decorations to keep, or to give as delightfully personal gifts, made from inexpensive and easily available materials. Share the fun with your family, who will also enjoy being shown how to make their own crackers, wreaths, advent calendars and assorted decorations from the traditional “honeycomb” to the opulent “Faberge” bauble and through to zany “glow in the dark” snowflakes! All tools will be supplied. Students are encouraged to bring in their own collections of buttons, beads, decorative papers and personal materials they wish to utilise, but additional materials are available from the tutor at a modest cost.

Drawing For The Terrified8 weeks £59.50
Drawing opens our eyes to the wonders of the world around us. Together students will rise to the challenge of putting marks on to that scary expanse of white paper. No expensive materials required, just a longing to “have a go” and to be surprised by the progress possible. Still life, sketchbook development and historical perspectives will be examined. Students may also have an opportunity to look at some 3D clay work. A kit list will be sent to all students and is needed for the first night.

Lose yourself in the absorbing occupation of making your own decorative objects to keep, or to give as gifts. Don’t bother with expensive kits, students can fire up their imaginations and see discarded objects, even rubbish, with a new eye! This course is designed for beginners and indeed those learners with some sewing skills. The course aims to teach a variety of sewing techniques to complete a range of garments, giving students the opportunity to learn new creative skills with textiles. Come along and learn the art of modern mosaics using glass, mirror, china and tesserae. During this brand new 10 week course, students will have the opportunity to make a range of indoor and exterior mosaics, either following set patterns or individual designs. Judith Ryder, our tutor is a member of BAMM, the British Association of Modern Mosaic and has a wide range of experience in this field. Students will need to purchase a pair of wheeled glass nippers at an approx cost of between £12.00 and £24.00. Other materials can be purchased directly from the tutor.

Do you sing, but only in the bath? Do you feel you could sing but were once told you were “tone deaf”? Join with others in this exciting new class, singing, as a group, songs from the popular and folk traditions, along with a few from the classical repertoire. Lack of musical theory is a positive advantage, while shyness and experience are no handicap – all you need is a sense of humour! Roger is an enthusiastic and encouraging tutor who has sung in choirs since boyhood under many well-known conductors and has worked with all abilities and ages from eight to 80.

You will study how to care for your skin using a full range of aromatherapy facial products and learn the art of lymphatic drainage facial massage to help rejuvenate and relax. You can make your own natural face mask to use within the treatment. This class will provide a good basis for all to care for their skin and aid in relaxation. This course has been designed for anyone wanting to learn how to care for their hands and nails by performing a mini manicure. Students will learn how to cleanse, condition and massage their hands and then how to perform a mini manicure, including cuticle care, shaping of the nails and the correct and lasting application of polish. Come and treat yourself to some “you time” and learn a new skill. Please bring along your favourite nail polish and a hand towel. If you have a keen interest in reflexology then this is the course for you! Reflexology is a therapy based on maintaining the body’s balance and this is achieved through the stimulation of reflex points on the hands and/or feet. Students will learn how to use these points to detect imbalances within the body and a 3D model of the foot to aid practice will also be assembled. Whilst this course will provide a good basis for self help techniques, it does not qualify you to practice as a therapist. Students can purchase all consumables on the first night for approx £2.75.

Another short course which will introduce students to the world of Aromatherapy and how this can be used to provide relaxing and beneficial massage to the hands and arms.
