Sourcing & Distillers’ Notes: Made from Magpie Coffee Roasters’ Pica Pica blend–local, hand–roasted, small-batch artisanal coffee—this liqueur is blended using three different extraction methods for optimal flavor complexity:

• Maceration in alcohol lends strong caramel and chocolate characteristics

• Cold brew provides sweetness and floral aromatics

• Hot brew adds bitter, roasty, and acidic flavors

The addition of lemon zest was inspired by the European tradition of serving espresso with a twist of lemon, accentuating the natural citrus notes found in the coffee and balancing the overall flavor.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of roasted black walnut, dark rich cherry chocolate, and caramel, are balanced with notes of stone fruit, bright citrus, and hints of floral. On the palate, Hecate Coffee offers a rich viscous mouthfeel with earthy chicory reminiscent of Italian style espresso. You will discover a chocolaty roundness on the mid-palate with the very slight sweetness cut gently with bright lemony citrus and a pleasant bitterness on the finish.

Sourcing & Distillers’ Notes:Our cacao nibs are sourced from Peru or Ecuador via our supplier Terrasoul. Certified organic, kosher, Non-GMO Project verified, and naturally fermented, they maintain the same quality and integrity of the whole bean because they are raw and processed at low temperatures.

Our Madagascar vanilla beans are sourced through Lafaza, a company that promotes sustainable vanilla farming. We cut our vanilla per batch by half in order to not contribute to the scarcity of quality sustainable vanilla for the world at large.

Tasting Notes:On the nose, you notice earthy, heady aromas of chocolate and slightly unripe tart cherry. The flavor is at first mildly astringent but coats your tongue with luscious, thick cocoa butter, ending with a fruity, earthy, baker’s chocolate finish. We blend our bourbon and malt whisky new-make to make this liqueur, which contributes to the strong depth of finish.
