Rehabilitation and Modernization of the Temascal Hydroelectric Power Plant Units 1-4The Temascal Hydroelectric Plant is located in the Municipality of San Miguel Soyaltepec in the State of Oaxaca.
The project consists of the rehabilitation and modernization of this hydroelectric plant’s electric generators and hydraulic turbines.
These works are planned to increase the efficiency of the hydraulic turbines, by optimizing their specific water consumption, consequently improving the availability of the units.
These generating units have a gross effective capacity of 28.5 MW each. They provide the energy generated on the Eastern side of the National Interconnected System.
The project includes the engineering, design, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning of the hydraulic turbines and the electric generators of the four units located in this plant.
Specific turbine water consumption will be reduced from 10.06 to 8.86 m3/kWh, thereby increasing availability by 9.38%.
The estimated project implementation period is 42 months.
