All actors are required to audition.

PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE AT ANY POINT ONCE THE AUDITIONS BEGIN.

All campers must come to auditions with their selection prepared. An email will

be sent out when audition packets will be ready for pick up at the JPAS office. You must sing a selection from the packet. You may not select another piece.

Campers will be broken into 3 groups. There will be a group on stage to sing for the Director and Musical Director, a group learning the dance audition combo with the Choreographer, and a group on hold taking care of any last minute

things that need to be handled. We rotate the groups until each group has seen all members of the artistic staff. After this morning session is complete the

Director, Music Director, and Choreographer discuss who they would like to "callback." (A callback is when one or more of the artistic staff would like to see

an actor once again. They may be asked to read a scene from the script, sing another song (which we would teach them) or both. A list will be posted in the lobby of who is called back prior to the lunch break. *Please note- sometimes it

is a good thing that an actor is not called back. Sometimes a Director knows where they want to put the actor without seeing them again.* All actors are

released for the day with the exception of those on the callback list. The actors will be given a lunch break and asked to report back to the theatre at a specific time (usually 1-1 1/2 hours later). Parents are allowed to wait for the child in

the lobby only. If you know your child will be absent for the auditions, please contact

Lynne Bordelon in writing with the reasons why your child is unavailable. It is JPAS' mission to give as many children as possible the

opportunity to realize their full artistic potential. We do our best to accommodate families with schedule conflicts on the audition day.

If for any reason a camper misses the audition date, he or she will be ineligible for a principal role.

COMMUNITY SERVICE At JPAS, we believe in the importance of giving back to the community. This year we are continuing community service projects in EACH Intensive session. Enrollment Agreement Summer 2016

Audition Date: Saturday May 14, 2016 JPAS Conservatory Studio (5005 Bloomfield St) Intensive Dates: June 13-July 10, 2016 Tech Week: July 5-10, 2016; 9am-4pm

Tuition is $500 per session, with a $150 deposit due at the time of registration and the remaining balance due on May 2, 2016 Enrollment: The enrollment process begins with the completion of our registration packet. Each parent must provide a completed Registration packet, Enrollment Agreement, $150 deposit at time of registration, completed measurement sheet and a recent picture before being added to the rosters for JPAS Youth Summer Musical Theatre Intensive. Your child will not be added to the roster until all documents are submitted and complete. _____________________ Parent Initials Hours of Operation: JPAS Youth Summer Musical Theatre Intensive is open Monday through Friday, with our operating hours being 9am-3pm (first 3 weeks, tech Week 9am-4pm)) A late pick up fee of $2 per minute is enforced 10 minutes after dismissal per family. After 2 violations, the fee will be increased to $5 per minute. After 2 more violations (4 total), we may ask that your child withdraw from the program. You must pay fee when you pick up your child. _____________________ Parent Initials Tuition: Our fees are charged on a per session basis. Parents are required to pay $150 deposit (per session registered) at the time of registration. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. The remaining balance MUST be paid in full by 4pm on May 2, 2016. Anyone not paying their balance by this date will be removed from our roster, and we will begin filling those spots with students on the waiting list. Should you still desire to have your child(ren) participate, your child(ren) will be placed on the waiting list. They will only regain a spot on our rosters if another spot becomes available. Children on the waiting lists are placed in the order their COMPLETED Registration Packets are received.

JPAS can automatically charge your credit card on May 2, 2016. Please mark the appropriate option for this on your Tuition Agreement page. There is a $50 sibling discount. There is also a $50 multi-session discount. If parents are separated or divorced, the parent who signed the child up will be the responsible party for all tuition payments that will be due. Parents MUST make arrangements between each other on how tuition will be paid. A $35.00 fee is assessed on returned payments. Cash or money order for the total amount must be paid to JPAS Business Manager in order for your child(ren) to remain on our rosters within 24 hours of notification.

_____________________ Parent Initials Acceptance and Release of Children: 8th-12th Grade: Participants are required to sign themselves in and out daily (this includes public performances). These participants will also be required to sign themselves in and out for lunch daily. PLEASE SEE LUNCH PERMISSIONS PAGE. If a person other than those listed on the registration packet is to pick up a child, the parent/guardian must advise JPAS Director of Youth Programming in writing in advance. _____________________ Parent Initials Lunch: *If food allergies are present at JPAS Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, an announcement will be made at auditions.* There are no refrigerators or microwaves. 8th-12th grade: Each 8th-12th grade participant must have parental consent to leave campus for lunch. PLEASE SEE LUNCH PERMISSIONS PAGE (page 4). Your child will forfeit a rehearsal day if they leave campus without a signed consent form. If your child leaves campus without permission a second time, they will be asked to leave the program. Please do not send sugary beverages to camp. The participants are allowed water only in a closed, sealed container in all rehearsal spaces. Please label EVERYTHING with your child’s name. _____________________ Parent Initials Required Supplies: 8th-12th grade:

• Script daily • Pencil (sharpened) daily • Closed toe and closed back rehearsal shoes. At no time will any participant be allowed in any rehearsal

space without closed toe and closed back shoes. NO EXCEPTIONS! • Please wear appropriate clothing for moving and dancing. Skirts and dresses are not allowed. Please do not

wear clothing with obscenities, questionable slogans, phrases, or pictures.

• All participants will be required to provide their own performance tights, necessary undergarments and show shoes, and sometimes a small portion of the costume. A costume letter will be sent home at the beginning of camp to explain exactly what each character is required to provide and when it is due at camp.

• Please label all personal garments/shoes with your FULL NAME.

_____________________ Parent Initials Volunteer Responsibilities: In an effort to ensure that the responsibilities necessary to mount a wonderful production for our performers and their audiences are met, please review the following requirement. It is the intent of JPAS to foster volunteer opportunities, and to ensure that the weight of the responsibilities is shared by many and not by a few. We are asking that each performer's parent(s)/guardian(s) invest 4 hours of volunteer time toward the production's load-in, strike (take-down), or chaperoning of a show. We will list what type work we need volunteers for when the program begins. Sign-up sheets will be emailed through Sign-Up Genius.

_____________________ Parent Initials Costuming: Please purchase the required shoes, tights and leotards that are required for the show. A list of what is required may not be available until the start of the program. Parents may be asked to bring in additional costume pieces. If you have any questions regarding costuming, you should contact Lynne Lawrence Bordelon, Director of Youth Programming.

_____________________ Parent Initials Attendance Policies: Intensive hours are Monday-Friday 9am-3pm (8th-12th grade). Parents/guardians must drop off and pick up their child at the designated times. We do not offer before or after care for participants. A late pick up fee of $2 per minute is enforced 10 minutes after dismissal per family. You must pay the late fee when you pick up your child. All cast members in 8th-12th grade must sign in and out DAILY. Each performer is expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals. All conflicts must be communicated to the Director of Youth Programming, Lynne Lawrence Bordelon, in writing prior to missing a rehearsal. Should you miss a total of two or more days, your role MAY be reassigned to another performer. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY DURING TECH WEEK. No absences (this includes arriving late or leaving early) are allowed. (Please see the SCHEDULE FOR EXACT DATES FOR YOUR SESSION) Performances are MANDATORY and a requirement of this camp. Please notify JPAS Director of Youth Programming regarding any special circumstances or medical requirements you might have.

Parent Initials Parent Meeting There will be a MANDATORY parent meeting at the start of each Intensive audition. If a parent is not present at that meeting, your child WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR A LEADING ROLE. See page 6 for dates.

_____________________ Parent Initials Auditions and Casting: At JPAS, we take pride in hiring some of the best musical theatre directors available to us. It is a privilege to have them with us each summer. Our Stage Director, Music Director and Choreographer will be auditioning all students for our summer shows. We have one scheduled audition time for each production. If your child cannot make it at that time, it is up to the Director of Youth Programming to allow them a separate audition. You must submit, in writing, to the Director of Youth Programming, Lynne Lawrence Bordelon, your request for a make up audition. This request must be received by JPAS offices no later than 2 weeks prior to the regularly scheduled audition. If JPAS receives notification later than 2 weeks, we cannot guarantee a make up audition and your child will be ineligible for a principal role. As with every audition, some cast members may not be happy with the role they have been assigned. Should you feel the need to discuss casting with our staff, you should put your concerns in writing and email it to Lynne Lawrence Bordelon. It is the Director of Youth Programming’s ultimate decision as to which role your child is assigned. The staff will not discuss these issues with you prior to a letter being sent to the Director of Youth Programming stating your concerns. DO NOT CONTACT OUR STAGE DIRECTORS!

_____________________ Parent Initials Rules and Regulations: *We start promptly at 9am and end the day at 3pm (8th-12th grade). Please arrive on time each day. *Pay attention and be respectful of the requests of all staff members, volunteers and parents at all times. *No swearing. Be aware of your conversation topics around younger participants. *Display the highest standard of respect for self and others. *No exploring. Do not leave the rehearsal/theatre premises without supervision and do not loiter in the parking lot after rehearsals. *No littering. If you make the mess, clean it up. No food/drinks are allowed in the band room, dance studio, wrestling room, costume shop or auditorium/theatre. *No inappropriate display of affection. *Cast members must always wear closed toe shoes. Cast members will not be allowed on stage without the proper footwear. *Cast members must wear clothing suitable for dancing. No skirts or dresses allowed. *PARENTS: No alcohol is allowed on the East Jefferson High School campus; this includes their parking lot. Flagrant or persistent violations of these rules and regulations will result in the implementation of disciplinary procedures which begins with a referral to the Director of Youth Programming and a notification to parents.
