Sport News ESPSSA Zone Swimming Carnival

Our Rainbow Street PS swimming team did us proud at the ESPSSA Zone Swimming Carnival. The whole team strived to do their best, performed admirably and were very well behaved. Additionally, another local Principal commented to Miss Sayers about the good sportsmanship, students’ support of each other and the politeness of the RSPS students! In a first for Rainbow Street, our 12 years boys, Sebastien, Ronin and Alper finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 50m freestyle event! Congratulations to the following students who will represent Eastern Suburbs Zone at the upcoming Sydney East Region Swimming Carnival.

2019 Showcase Showcase is Rainbow Street Public School’s dance performance group. It involves selected students in Years 3-6 learning and practising a dance from Term 1 until mid-Term 3. The group then performs as part of a combined schools concert. It is lots of fun but also requires a big commitment. Any students (boys and girls) in Years 3-6 who would like to be involved in the group are invited to come to rehearsals beginning in Week 7. Thirty students will then be selected to represent our school in Showcase At The Juniors in Term 3. Please see Miss Wheatley or Miss Rice for more information. Permission notes will be distributed to students who express an interest. These permission notes should be returned by Friday 8 March 2019. Miss Wheatley and Miss Rice Showcase Coordinators

An Introduction In case you didn’t know, my name is Greg Dodwell. My children have been attending Rainbow Street Public School since 2010. I help coordinate an Executive Committee that consists of some familiar names: Isabel Romero; Craig Muldoon; Jo-anne Evgenidis; Katrina Allen; Carol Ann Duffy; Sally Notaras; Linh Medic; Belinda Bennett; Diane Nazaroff and Tanya Buick from TRAC. I am the accountable, public face of our school’s P & C and chair our meetings. I don’t operate from an office. I am not paid any wages or in kind for the work I do for our school community in my free time. We’re a voluntary organisation that relies on trust, good will and good faith to at least function. On that note, thank you to Linh and her Library Friday team who were back at school this morning to finish off the jobs from last week.

Information From TASK Staff: For next Monday’s meeting, everyone’s welcome to stick around for a chance to meet and hear the women from TASK —the new OOSH provider — in lieu of the usual “Connect Time” after the formal part of the meeting finishes at 7pm. Meeting Next Monday 6 to 8pm, School Library, Monday 4 March 2019. See you at school. Greg./ Gregory Dodwell Rainbow Street PS P&C President [email protected] http://www.rainbowstpandc.org.au
