WE CAN RESUME
NUMEROUS SPORTSAGAINST OTHER BOYS’
SCHOOLS ACROSS SYDNEY!
Upgrade
There are many meetings taking place regarding our upgrade. Initial plans and discussions have been very promising. Once we are instructed to send particulars to our school community, we will be doing so. Watch this space!
Riding Bikes
Riding bicycles to school is encouraged and we have recently acquired more bike racks to meet demand. As has been mentioned to students on the assembly, students are not to ride their bikes once they enter the school gate. In the mornings, students have been instructed to ride to the gate, get off and wheel their bike to the rack. This is for everyone’s safety. In the afternoon, the reverse takes place, walk your bike to the street and then ride your bike. All students are reminded, once again, of these requirements. Consequences will be issued to any student who fails to comply.

From the Principal
Higher School Certificate
Our HSC students have been extremely busy completing exams for the past two weeks. These exams will continue until the 11th November. HSC exams are not supervised by teaching staff. We have one Presiding Officer, Anne, who arranges everything for the examination period. Anne arranges a team of invigilators, who assist with supervision etc. Each year, Anne provides feedback to
our school on the cohort. I am so pleased to say that for the past 4 years, she has praised our Year 12 students and this year is no different! She has been so impressed with our students, their behaviour, attitude and the fact that very few have left an exam before the scheduled finish time. Well done, gentlemen!
Sport
Summer Grade Sport begins next week. As it is part of our culture and fabric, we welcome competition and the season! I know many of our students have missed the comradery that comes with playing grade sport. The students have been extremely patient, parents and staff have been understanding and that has paid dividends. A special thank you to Mr Noreika, our sports coordinator, who has done a brilliant job during the period of no or limited sport and now, ensur-ing the summer season begins.

Spaghetti Bolognese TAS cooking lesson Year 8 Food Technology - making scones
We looked at a recipe to prepare a dough using self-raising flour and butter to make scones.
The boys took turns to help use cup-spoons to measure the flour and scoop it into the mixing bowl. They then cut butter in 80g portions to mix with the flour in addition to 150g of milk. They then used a butter knife to mix the dough until it was all mixed. The dough was then rolled out into 2cm thickness, using a roll-ing pin, and cut into shape, using a cookie cutter mould. The scones were then baked in a pre-heated oven for about 15 minutes.

Congratulations to all of our grade athletes and good luck for the upcoming season! For those who did not make a grade sport team this season, do not be discouraged, use it as fuel to train harder and develop your skills for next year.

Engaging with the community
To ensure we protect public health and safety during the Coronavirus outbreak, we need to change the way we consult with the community.
Please be assured we will continue to respond to any questions or concerns you may have about our work.
How will the work affect you?
Our work needs to be carried out at night to minimise traffic disruption and reduce safety risks to the workers and motorists.
It may be noisy at times but we will do everything we can to minimise its impact, including completing the noisier tasks such as jack hammering and saw cutting by midnight.
To minimise disruption to residents, businesses and road users, we will not work more than two nights in any week.
Traffic changes
There will be temporary traffic changes during our work hours to ensure the work zone is safe.
Please keep to speed limits and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions. For the latest traffic updates, you can call 132 701, visit livetraffic.com or download the Live Traffic NSW App.
The NSW Government is carrying out this essential work as part of ongoing maintenance of the State road network.
Our work schedule
We will be on site for six night shifts between Sunday 1 November and Friday 4 December, weather permitting.
Our work hours will be between 8pm and 5am from Sunday to Friday.
We will work up to two nights per week.
Contact us If you have any questions, please contact our delivery partner, VBA on 1800 677 700 or [email protected].
For more information on our projects, visit transport.nsw.gov.au.
Thank you for your patience during this important work.
