• Accidents are the leading cause of death for children in NSW
• More than half of all accidental deaths amongst 5-14 year olds involve road traffic accidents
• Over 714 children aged 5-16 have been killed or injured across the Hunter and Central Coast area in the last 3 years.

• National child restraint laws: all children up to seven years of ageseven years of age must now be safely fastened into the right restraint for their age and size.

• Children younger than 4yrs younger than 4yrs cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with 2 or more rows.
• Children 4yrs to under 7yrs 4yrs to under 7yrs cannot travel in the front seat of a vehicle with 2 or more rows, unless all other back seats are occupied by children younger than 7yrs in a child restraint or booster seat.
• Children aged between 7yrs and 16 yrs 7yrs and 16 yrs must use a booster seat if they are too small to be restrained by a seatbelt properly adjusted and fastened

You must not stop on a length of road to which a No Parking No Parking sign applies unless you are dropping off, or picking up, passengers or goods. (Drop off (Drop off zone)zone)

• Students waiting to board the bus in the afternoon are supervised by teachers.
• It is safest to walk with your child to the bus stop in the morning and wait at the bus stop in the afternoon to collect your child where possible.

• Students under the age of 10 should not ride bicycles to or from school unless accompanied by an adult bicycle rider.
• Children must correctly wear a Standards Approved Australia helmet
