Results of meetings

• Small committee met on June 23rd and 25th.

• The initial proposal was discussed at length with the possibility of piloting for the 09-10 school year.

• A schedule for one school was presented. An additional .20 FTE would be needed.

Issues considered

• Space availability• Number of instruments available• Class size/student choice?• Shift of classroom music FTE to

instrumental music• Scheduling challenges • Equity with small schools• Focus on strengthening middle school

program or changing elementary

Committee Recommendation

• After much discussion, it was determined that the district leave the configuration as is for the 09-10 school year.

• During the 09-10 school year, the committee will continue to study possible changes to the current music program.
