Music Magazine Proposal

My target audience is aimed for people between the ages of 15 - 20, i believe that these are the ages that the magazine will appeal to most. I also believe that the magazine will attract these readers and create more as it is a rather unique magazine genre. This will produce a greater audience for this magazine genre. I am planning to find out what the readers will be looking for and what they want me to include, i will be able to do this through a questionnaire, i will hand out about 15 questionnaires to people in the age groups i have chosen and will look forward to reading them completed.

Reader ProfileReader ProfileI believe my readers will be people between the ages of 15 - 20, my reason for this is that this genre of magazine will most appeal to people of similar ages, i believe these people will be able to afford this magazine because the ages are teenagers to early twenties therefore they will still be at school, collage and sixth form and will more than likely be in part time employment. I will place my magazine around £1 - £3 keeping the cost fairly minimal this should encourage my audience to buy the magazine.

Magazine Name One of the key features of a magazine is the heading making sure it is catchy and will not be forgotten easily, i have come up with five titles for my magazine...

• Stayfresh • Hype Magazine • Streetbeat • Streets Magazine• Upload

I am unsure so far what magazine name i will choose, once i have had some feed back i will be able to decide exactly which heading I will use.

USP

I believe the main unique selling point of the magazine is the genre as there are not many of them. I believe this gives me a chance to create something that there are few of and will attract new readers.

In my magazine I will include up and coming artist, I will also include that latest tracks and albums by UK grime and Hip-Hop artists. The magazine will also include tours and gigs the artist will be performing and were tickets can be bought, along with the latest fashions and urban stores to purchase the clothing. I believe that this is what the reader will be interested in and will sell the magazine.

I am looking at RWD magazine, it looks at all the latest UK urban music and artistes. My music magazine is going to be on urban hip-hop and UK grime. I have chosen this because i believe this is an open market in chippenham as there are not many current magazines sold in chippenham on this genre.

I believe that their is a large market for this and is only getting bigger, i will design a UK grime and hip-hop magazine for a chippenham audience, i will research the views and opinions of people using a questionnaire.

Double Page Spread Double Page Spread For my double page spread I planning on using Josh Archer, I will take some photos of him mixing and some photos of him producing some of his own tracks giving the readers some ideas of what the magazine will include. Although I have not finished planning the double page spread and I am sure I will think of some more ideas after I have taken some of the photos.

Front Cover Ideas Front Cover IdeasFor my magazine front cover I am planning on taking photos of Josh Archer as he produces some of his own grime instrumentals and , I will take a photo of him shoulders up wearing the latest in street clothing. I am undecided about this as I might have a photo of Josh mixing as this will show what the magazine is all about. Although I am am still thinking of ideas and will take a lot of photos before I decide
