Overall project objective

Sustaining and increasing the school

enrolment in the target 10 schools through

spring festival and distribution of bags, books,

uniforms and hygiene kits Provision of sewing business to 50 young

females to make uniforms for children

Hygiene Promotion among children on the useof latrines in the target schools to reduce open

defecation

Project activities and

deliverables/ outputs Activity 1: Iqra Welfare Society will organizing 10 spring festivals

to promote interest of the children 1 in each targetschool carrying out various small competitions among

children on small scale games like tug of war, race,sack jumping etc.

Activity 2:

Iqra Welfare Society will identify 50young females who

have acquired skill of sewing clothes at Dastkari(vocational) School or at home will be engaged to sewthe uniforms for the children. In this way 50 femaleswill get a small business and each girl will sew 20uniforms each.

Activity 3:

Distribution of School books, bags and uniformswill be done.

Activity 4:

Training for 20 teachers (two from each school)will be organized who then will organize training intheir own school for 100 students.1 Hygiene

Awareness Sessions will be carried out in each

school with the children to sensitize them onhygiene promotion.

Activity 5:

Hygiene Kits will be distributed among thechildren.

Implementation strategy

Iqra Welfare Society will meet the school

management on the program introduction. After

signing an MOU with them we will agree on work

plan with them. 100 children between the ages of 10 to 14 will be

identified from each school with the help of school

administration.

As per the work plan spring festival anddistribution date will be finalized.

Identification of young females with sewing skills

will be done.

Implementation strategy

(conti..) These young females will be linked to schools in

case in future they want services from them.

The distribution will be planned and children willbe given the notebooks, bags and the uniforms.

This will be carried out at festival day. Two teachers from each school will be selected

for training on hygiene promotion.

After attending this training the teachers will

conduct hygiene sessions in their own school topromote hygiene promotion in their own schools.Once the children are made aware on the issues,the distribution of hygiene kits will be made.
