Participated in various OSH Awareness Programs and Activities conducted by TUCP and PSI Gender and Health Project

Increased awareness on OSH in the workplace and making them realized that it was part of trade union rights

Policies adopted promoting youth participation in local union/federation bodies

A recommendation on promoting youth participation in local union and Federation level was given to the PGEA Executive Board during the last National Convention of Government Employees in Malacanang.

Heads of local unions affiliated to PGEA and PGEA Executive Board have acknowledged the importance and right of young workers participation in all union activities and suggesting at least a 30% quota.

Encouraged greater youth representation and participation in local union/federation structures and activities

Involvement of young workers in local union elections

Local unions have recognized the right of the young workers to be well represented in their own structures. At present, most of PYC members are elected local union officers.

Youth committee/s and other similar structures in local union/federation created

Aside from promoting youth participation in local unions, PYC also included in their recommendation the right to create their own youth structure/committee within their own local union structure.

Local unions have started creating their own youth committees in support to PYC recommendation of promoting young workers rights

Increased resources and support for youth activities

PYC have included in its plans and programs some fund-raising activities like youth concert, etc., and also networking with other NGOs (local and International) for possible support and assistance.

PYC is now closely working with other NGOs like PSI, etc.

Regular youth committee meetings conducted

PYC holds regular meeting at least once or twice every quarter

Plans and Programs are being assessed and they are being updated with current labour issues especially those that has a direct impact to the young workers

Increased organizing and youth membership campaigns

PYC is in the process of coming up with a database of young workers in the public sector

Organizing Skills Training was also provided

Increased in terms of membership and networking

Supported and increased opportunities of young members to capacity building programs

Members of PYC were being sent to various trainings and seminars

Skills are enhanced and increased their productivity level

Instituted regular exchange of information and communication with young members

To keep PYC members updated and it serve as a venue for exchanging opinions and views.

Maximized capacity and involvement of young members in all public and private decision-making bodies and social dialogue mechanisms at all levels
