MATTHEW 14:13-21 (THE FEEDING OF THE 500O )

Page 3: Presentation1

The bread has been used since biblical times like a source to supply an immediate necessity of the human race.

The bread is the quickest and cheapest way of stopping starvation.

REWARDS AND COSTS OF A LOAF OF BREADThe social Exchange Theory, an economic model of human

behavior used to explain how people arrive at decisions, posits that people seek the greatest amount of reward with the least amount of cost. This theory exemplifies how the human race has integrated to its basic diet; the costs has been minimal and the rewards beyond imagination.

Using this particular approach, I decide to reframe a loaf of bread in a very refreshing approach.

WHAT IS THE REAL VALUE OF A LOAF OF BREAD?

For a wealthy person like Mitt Romney (Go Obama) a loaf of bread might mean nothing.

For an average person like me living in the United States, it means an addition to my weekly grocery shopping list.

For a low income person, it might be the difference between live or death.

A loaf of bread averages in the local supermarket between $2.50- $4.50. Many of us don’t appreciate the little economical value of this items. Besides its economical value, I embrace myself in this project with the idea to move a loaf of bread through the different social classes in our current society. I wanted to see how so little can produce so much. I want to be able to feed 5000 in one simple idea. This is the bread Facebook project.

THE PAY FORWARD BREAD PROJECT

Page 7: Presentation1

The idea of the project is very simple : to feed and help people at the same time. How do we accomplish this?

Step number one: We create a Facebook group/fan page where we promote the project.

BASICS CONCEPTS OF THE PROJECT:

We delivered a bread of loaf to neighbors, friends, family, relatives, coworkers, strangers, classmates, anyone!

This loaf of bread is attached with a small card. Nobody knows what the card contains until he/she goes home and opens it.

NUMBER TWO: PAY FORWARD.

One of my friends’ card said, “share this loaf of bread with you mom. Call her and invite her for a snack. Reconnect with her.’

Another card might say, “make a bread cake using this loaf and bread and give it to the first person you see today.”

We strongly believe we can encourage people to be more socially emphatic with just a simple loaf of bread. We want people to communicate not only with words, but with actions.

We would like to use technology to track the progress, to document how the world can be a better place with a loaf of bread and actions. We encourage people to pay it forward continuing the snowball effect that the Facebook project has started.

THE LEVELS WE ARE WORKING:
