A NEW HOPE

It is a period of civil war. Certified Arborists, striking withexisting tools of the trade, have won their first victory

against the Emerald Empire.

During the battle, researchers managed to gain insight into theEmpire’s most destructive force, the Larval Stage. The flat-headed borer hidden beneath the tree’s bark, is capable of wiping out the

entire ash population in North America.

Plagued by misinformation spread through The Press, licensed applicators have been handed secret plans to the ravenous Emerald Ash Borer, giving the upper hand to Green Industry Professionals, now able to save the most valuable and

treasured of the Fraxinus race.

A long time ago in a city far,far away….

EAB Life Cycle

Larval Stage- June through March- Larvae feed in cambial

layer for 44-47 weeks

Pupal Stage- Begin to pupate in April

- Pupation takes 2-3 weeks

Adult Stage- Emerge May through August

(700-1000 gdd50)- Each adult lives about 2-3 weeks,

laying approx 60-90 eggs

Egg Stage- May into September- Eggs hatch in 1-2 weeks

Azadirachtin (Azadirachta indica)

Timing: Treat in mid-late Spring.

Trunk Injected – optimal performance when injected every year during high infestation levels. (70-80% reduction in larvae)

Dinotefuran

Mix according to label. Agitate until product is dissolved in

water. Coat the bottom 5’ of trunk with low-

pressure spray until the bark is wet and just beginning to run off.

Avoid treating wet bark or if rain is expected in 4 hours, and trees with thicker bark.

Timing: Treat in mid-late Spring.

Trunk Spray – Uptake relatively quickly but shorter residual as compared to imidacloprid.
