  • *PROFESSING OUR FAITH The Nicene Creed (Ecumenical Translation)

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

SHARING OUR HEARTS WITH GOD Following each petition, God’s people respond:

Leader: Loving God, People: Hear our prayer. THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

    BRINGING OUR GIFTS TO GOD

Offertory “You Are the Light” Tom Fettke

You are the Light we see. You are the Truth we know. You are the Life we live. You are the Hope, You are the Joy, You are the Song we sing.

Living God, loving God, we glorify Your name. High and Holy One come down, we lift our hearts in praise.

    Prince of Peace, Immanuel, Jesus, Lord of Love. Within our hearts – Your light. Within our minds – Your truth. Within our lives – Your love;

Living Your hope, spreading Your joy, singing Your beautiful song; Singing Your beautiful song, Your song.

*Offertory Response (Hymn No. 606) Doxology

    *OFFERING OUR BROKENNESS TO GOD

Loving God, we acknowledge that we chase after foolish things and spend our energy on selfish desires. Our focus has been on advancing ourselves in society instead of sharing your word and love with those around us. Deliver us from our arrogance and forgive our self-centeredness. Guide us so that we may live as your children each day. Amen.

    Silent Confession

Response (Hymn No. 442; v.4) Just as I Am, Without One Plea

Just as I am, thy love unknown has broken every barrier down; Now to be thine, yea, thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come; I come!

*RECEIVE GOD’S HEALING AND SHARE GOD’S PEACE

Leader: The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

People: And also with you. Please share the peace of Christ with those around you.

*SING GLORY TO GOD (Hymn No. 447) We Are Forgiven

We are forgiven. We are forgiven! Thanks be to God. Thanks be to God! We are forgiven. We are forgiven! Thanks be to God. Thanks be to God!

They will be donated to the food pantries we support: Neighborhood Services, Inc. and NNEMAP. The clients love these mixes, which include the different beans as well as tomatoes, spices and instructions. Assembling the mixes was a children’s Sunday School project for years, and is now open to all ages. It’s a fun and easy winter project. Please join us and give it a try. Thank you all!

To date we have contributed approximately 75 pounds. The profits they receive from recycling them are used to offset various expenditures of the house. We currently have a large collection house in the Lounge. Soon we will be adding a large house in the Fellowship Hall. Hopefully this will capture participation from the groups that utilize this area during the week It may seem small but it all adds up and is greatly appreciated.
