Introduction

Traditionally tax returns in Spain are completed by lawyers and gestors on behalf of their cleints. A typical charge for a straightforward return is around €50 - €60. reference numbers on the return don’t change much, so you can use the return as a template. In addition to the Padre system the Hacienda is developing it Electronic Office to be more accessible, and you can now use that to access the system. However, this note concerns the download and installation of the PADRE system onto Windows 7 or 8 computers. Note: we cannot provide any technical assistance to support this.

Throughout the notes, there are a series of screenshots for ease of use. There are also red arrows pointing to various items, so you can easily follow the note.

This technique is used throughout the note

Appendix 1 – Java Download

The PADRE will only work with Java installed. Occasionally there are reports in the media about security vulnerabilities. The key thing with these is to ensure that you always update to the latest version, and ensure your security software is uptodate, and will protect you from these threats. If you are worried you should check with your security software vendor. You can always uninstall the system and/or Java when you have completed the model.

The latest version of Java can be downloaded from here
