quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 for many years.

DIN EN 15085-2 CL1

For many years Feuerland-Werkstätten GmbH & Co. KG has held welding

approval according to DIN EN 15085-2 CL1 to ensure the highest quality in the

welding area. The process checks and welding checks used have been

continuously expanded in recent years. Should new materials or dimensions come

into use, it is straightforward to expand these checks as required. WIG, MIG and

MAG welding processes are used.

Product group I

Manufacture of new shock absorbers

1. Vibration dampers

Vibration dampers are fitted in almost all running gear and are intended

to absorb shocks and vibration.

They are necessary to ensure a safe and comfortable ride. The

dampers are installed either vertically or horizontally, the only difference

is the valves inside the shock absorber.

Along with the usage in railway rolling stock, our vibration dampers can

also be used in other applications, e.g. as specials for bridge building, in

washing machines or coal mills.

2. Anti-hunting damper

Anti-hunting dampers prevent the vehicle starting to hunt in an

uncontrolled manner at higher velocities and also make possible a stable

ride on curves. The anti-hunting dampers are mounted on the roof or on

the exterior of the bogie. They are intended to optimise the sinusoidal

movement of the bogie.

3. Friction damper

Friction dampers are used on various wagon systems for railway

rolling stock. On friction dampers the damping action is achieved

by integrated friction linings. As a consequence their function is

independent of oil.

Here you can see the spare parts for the friction damper that are

replaced as necessary during reconditioning.

4. Lever shock absorbers

Manufacture of new parts

DUO 48

You will find various types of lever shock absorbers in our product range. We

manufacture lever shock absorbers with the aid of original models and tools,

including the levers.

Types

The following types are used for damping on special machines (e.g. racks in

sewage treatment plants)

The two following types are used to prevent wear on machines.

Mono

Usage on machines is not the only purpose of lever shock

absorbers. They are also used on classic cars. They were fitted to

all common vehicles during the years 1931-1964.

Reconditioning

Along with manufacture, we also offer the restoration of

various lever shock absorber types. This work includes

reconditioning, inspection, repair and the replacement

of damaged parts for which we provide a warranty.

Armstrong

We also restore dampers from other manufacturers. This statement also

includes products from foreign makes such as Armstrong, Gabriel etc., which

are often found in English and American cars.

Shock absorber reconditioning

Good reasons for reconditioning shock absorbers:

Significant cost saving

FEUERLAND only reconditions shock absorbers if the effort to be expected is less than 50 % - 60 % of the price new. As a consequence costs for the procurement of new shock absorbers can be kept low and in this way an economical alternative to the procurement of new shock absorbers offered.

Saving valuable resources and raw materials

FEUERLAND can assess whether inspected parts still in good condition can be used. In this way raw materials are saved and usable parts are reused directly. The reusability of parts such as the piston rod, cylinder tube etc. saves on the usage of new materials and can co-ordinate effective labour capacity and machinery utilisation.

Quick availability if spare parts are required, without long waiting times

FEUERLAND considers the reconditioning of shock absorbers to be a service for its customers. For this reason, these highly skilled assembly services are undertaken in a relatively short time. Also special types, unusual dimensions, uncommon settings, small batches and one-offs can be quickly and reliably rejuvenated and used again.

Reduction of pollution

FEUERLAND guarantees that noxious components are correctly disposed of and as a consequence can be recycled. Last but not least, this aspect offers our customer many demonstrable advantages.

Feuerland test stand for shock absorbers:

With our in-house developed shock absorber test stand we can check all horizontal and

vertical shock absorbers, as well as rubber-metal parts and springs.

Key data on the test stand:

Evacuation ladder system "Feuerland"

The evacuation system comprises two equal sized parts for straightforward

incorporation in passenger trains. In an emergency the two parts can be manually

joined together and then locked.

Our evacuation ladder fulfils two functions.

Ladder function:

To ensure a passenger train carriage can be left safely the system can be used as a ladder. The requirements of DIN 131-2 apply for the loads on usage as a ladder.

Walkway function

A further possible application for our evacuation ladder

is usage as a walkway so that passengers can pass safely from one

carriage to the next.

For both variants the permissible load is up to 240 kg or maximum three persons.

However, it would not be a problem to design the evacuation ladder to suit your

individual requirements and to modify the length and width to your needs.

can be safely and space-savingly stored during the journey.

The standard container has the dimensions 1160x600x250 mm and a weight of

10 kg. However, it would also not be problem here to modify the transport container

to suit your specific evacuation ladder.
