Pet adoption is a winning game

plan...and the one who adopts me will be a winner indeed! My name is Castille and I’m a 3-year-old

Lab mix boy who would love to be part

of your family! I’m an easy-going, laid-

back kind of guy who is content snuggling in your lap in front of the TV all evening. I

also love playtime and exploring outdoors. I am awesome on a leash! No pulling from me.

Another fave of mine is stuffed toys. I throw them in the air and prance around. I also adore

nylabones. More great news: I’m house-trained, friendly to all people and I can sit on command.

I’m great with dogs of all sizes and I behave nicely with cats who are accustomed to dogs.

If you’d like to adopt me, please call Coastal Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) at 910-256-2624. You can also like us on

Facebook at www.facebook.com/carewilmington or visit our website at www.carewilmington.org. I’d like to thank photographer Dick Parrott for

scoring a touchdown with my photo and I hope it wins me lots of fans. If I’m lucky, perhaps the

first meeting with my future family will go way-y-y-y into overtime!

Just take a look at me! My name is Cali (A078270). Aren’t I the most

gorgeous 5-month-old kitty you’ve ever seen! Not only am I gor-

geous but I come with great feline

qualities. I’m litter-box-trained, I am current on vacci-nations, I tested

negative for Feline Leukemia, I will be spayed, and I’m a pure treasure to hold on your lap. I keep my fur in great shape with my sandpaper tongue and have no problem assisting you

with your grooming needs as well. I’m very congenial and loving. Come on by the Onslow County Animal Shelter to play with me. You’ll certainly want to take me home with you on the spot! I’ll be waiting patiently. The shelter is located at 244 Georgetown Road in Jacksonville. To

adopt me, please call 910-455-0182.

I am sponsored by Dan and Sue Tuman in honor of all the cats who are waiting for homes at the shelter.

Alakazaam!!! It's me! Magic! I’m a 2-year-old male Walker Hound, tall

and lean like basket-ball great Magic

Johnson. And, like Magic, I have a

magical personality. I love everyone and they love me. I am being trained in the

Monty's Home Pawsitive Partners Prison Program for eight weeks, where

I'll be getting my diploma, which tells you that I can sit, stay, walk by your side on a leash, etc. etc. etc. You've got to come around and see me, because this photo doesn't do me justice.

What can I say? I'm magic! Visit us online at www.montyshome.org. Write to [email protected]

for more details, or call us at 910-297-1338. PLEASE LIKE US ON FACEBOOK at www.facebook.com/montyshome!

I am sponsored by a very special friend from Dog

Speak; Thank you Addie Belle!

My name is Skipper (A074685)

and I’m a Lab mix boy who is

8-months-old. I’m a cheerful little fellow and don’t be fooled - I’m quite small for

my breed. I’m learning all kinds of cool things like how to sit and walk well

on a leash. I can’t wait to be your next family member so please come out and

see if we belong together. Call Brunswick County Sheriff’s Animal Protective Services

at 910-754-8204 today!

Sponsored in loving memory of Roxy.

I’m a 1-year-old boy named

Petey and I’m the best friend you’ve been

searching for! Gregarious, out-going, sweet as honey, and play-

ful as a kitten. That’s me! I

would do well in a home with

other cats and I get along great with dogs and children. I just

love my people. I’m a social boy

who loves to play and just wrap myself around

you. I keep myself entertained with a few toys and am simply a fantastic companion. My good points just go on and on, folks! Oh, and as for my health, I am neutered,

vaccinated and litterbox-trained. Give Cat Adoption Team a call at 910-792-9014 if you’d like more informa-tion. I’m also at Petsmart in Wilmington 7 days a week!

I am sponsored by Pine Valley Animal Hospital in

honor of PiLing, Duff, Nugget and Mouse, the Layton's four spoiled Rescue Kitties and Jaden the

Dogcat. Thank you!

URGENT, URGENT! I’m Running Out of

Time! I hope my ’over the

shoulder’ look and big brown eyes are melting

your heart - I need a home! My name is

Tommy Dean (A013809) and I’m a 7-month-old Brindle

mixed-breed boy who is as loving and sweet as

they come. I’m very handsome, too! I play

well with other dogs and am also friendly to peo-ple. It was great getting out of my kennel for my photo opportunity; I just didn’t want to go back in! I love getting attention and dog cookies and

would be so happy to be a member of your family. But please hurry! There are lots of dogs arriving at the shelter and not enough room for us all. My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies

Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my neu-ter surgery. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm

to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more info, call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. You’re gonna love me!

I am sponsored by Happy At Home Pet Sitting in

memory of Walt and Sweetsie.

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is

Running Out! Hello there! It’s me, Cooper (A013611), and I’m ready to go home with you! I’m a 6-month-old, tan

and white Boxer mix boy. I have a playful and friendly nature and when I’m with

the other dogs in the play yard I am sub-missive, not domi-

nant. I was found as a stray, but I’m hop-ing there’s a family in my future. Yours, perhaps? We could have a great

time at dog parks, the beach or on the couch at home! I hope you’ll hurry because there are lots of dogs arriving at the shelter and not enough room for us all. My adoption

fee includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vac-cine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treat-

ment and my neuter surgery. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more information, call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected].

I look forward to seeing you!

COLUMBUS HUMANE SOCIETY

My name is Moxie and I am a bit of an enigma.

Although I was found as a stray and am

heartworm positive (the sure sign of a dog who lived an outdoor life), I marched right into my

foster home, full of other dogs with senior-

ity, and plopped my happy self on the humans' bed. Now, that's MOXIE! I’m a 1½-year-old, spayed Boxer mix who is

34 pounds, gentle and sweet. I have mastered house-training and I’m doing very well with dogs and humans. Contact my foster mom, Jennifer, at 910-619-3015 or

email [email protected] and tell her you want MOXIE!

ONSLOW COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES

Well, here I stand a little downcast. My name is Kilo (A076296) and I’m a 2-year-old Chinese

Shar Pei. I’ve been here for some time now. I

keep getting taken out for visits but unfortunately they keep bringing me back. I don’t know what people are looking for but I’m a really great dog. I take commands and follow them well.

I’m vaccinated, spayed, house-trained and I get along with other animals. I’m good with children and I’m a great

watchdog. What more does a person want? Hopefully, someone will see my fantastic virtues and come adopt me.

I’ll be looking for you expectantly! Give me a second chance please! The shelter is located at 244 Georgetown

Road in Jacksonville. To adopt me, call 910-455-0182.

4 PAW LIFESAVER RESCUE

My name is Kingston and I’m a 2-year-old boy who weighs 60 pounds. I love

other dogs a lot and I’m even good with cats and kids. A long time ago some people

took me and my siblings away from my mom and left us in a field. It was really

scary. My siblings were all adopted except me and while I love living with my foster fur-siblings and my foster mom, all I really want is my own home and family. I really am a won-derful dog! I am house-trained, good on a leash, know ba-sic commands, and I’m good in the car. I am fully vetted,

microchipped, and heartworm negative. To adopt me, email [email protected] or call 252-531-0744.

OPERATION TOPCAT

My name is Pixie and I’m a sweet,

brown Tabby who is approximately 1½-

years-old. My owner surrendered me to

Animal Services and Operation Topcat

took me in when my time had run out. I’m a little shy but I’m quickly coming out of my shell. I love to be scratched and purr all the time. I get along with other cats and I’m

looking for a quiet, safe, and loving forever home. I would probably do ok with a quiet dog but not toddlers. If you are interested in me and would like to find out more about me,

please email [email protected] or call 910-200-0612.

PENDER ENDANGERED

ANIMAL RESCUE

Hello, my name is Sophie! I’m a female Boxer mix

who needs a forever fam-ily. I’ve been waiting at

the rescue for too long! I am healthy and full of fun and energy. I love to run and get lots of attention. I am spayed and up to date on all my shots. I tend to pick and choose my play-mates (dogs), but if han-

dled correctly all will be fine. If you’re interested in a meet-ing, contact Pender Endangered Animal Rescue at

[email protected] or call 910-675-0867.

ONSLOW PARTNERS FOR ANIMAL WELFARE

My name is Cash and I am

a gorgeous, sweet boy at 11-months of age and 57 pounds. My owner relo-cated out of state so my

foster mom is helping me to

find a new home. I am

neutered, up to date on vaccinations, on all preventatives, heartworm negative and I’m a very quick learner who

knows basic commands. I am good with other dogs and children and I’m laid back and gentle. Call 484-883-3552 or visit www.oc-paw.com to fill out an adoption application.

PAWSITIVE PARTNERS PRISON PROGRAM

Flo-Jo is my name and, like my Olympics award-winning name-

sake, I run like a champ! After all, I am a Greyhound mix. However, my racing days are in the past,

‘cause now I just want to chill with a loving owner and I am being trained in Monty's Home's Pawsitive Part-ners Prison Program to run only

when you want me to. I also stay, sit, walk nicely on a leash, and lots

more. I am getting a diploma to prove it. I am a very pretty girl, and I feel I am quite the star because everyone

notices how pretty I am. Visit our website at www.montyshome.org. Email [email protected] for more details, or call us at 910-297-1338. Please like us on

CAROLINA ANIMAL PROTECTION SOCIETY

My name is Milo. I am a handsome, neutered male (born April 2010). I was

returned when my family no longer wanted me. I can't explain to my foster mom what happened while I was living

at my other home but I am afraid of heavy shoes/boots. I had a difficult time transitioning to my foster home

because I needed to learn that it was okay to trust some-one again. Once I trust you, I am very sweet. I love to

have my foster mom scratch my neck and back. I follow her around the house because I am interested in every-

thing she does. I would love a home with a patient family and lots of love. I have lots of love to give and I am worth it. To learn more about me, please call 910-330-1376 or

email [email protected].

CAPE FEAR RESCUE LEAGUE

Hi, my name is Red and I am looking for a family to love! I'm a 6-year-old Boxer mix and I'm neutered, up to date on all of

my shots, heartworm free, crate and house-trained and

my best buddy is a kitty cat. I love being around everyone

(men and women), children of all ages, and other dogs. I'm currently in a foster home with

a female Great Dane and a kitty cat, and we all get along great! I would be the perfect companion for anyone who is able to take their canine family members to work with

them...I just love being around everyone! I was picked up as stray by Pender County Animal Control. My history is

unknown, but it's certain that I was once someone's family member, since I'm completely house, crate, and leash-trained and I know tricks and commands. I may not be

the shiny, bouncy puppy that everyone seems to want but I am a well-behaved and kind gentleman who has impec-

cable manners. I want a family of my own so much. I can't wait to shower them with love. Please, won't you give me a chance? To adopt me, call 910-207-2071.

PET FRIENDS OF DUPLIN COUNTY

We’re Gray, Cheeky and BC - three beautiful

cats with a very sad story. We were the

much loved pets of a couple who passed away within a years

time. My name is Gray and I'm a 15-year-old, spayed and declawed

girl. My sister is Cheeky and she is a spayed, 10-

year-old girl. We are quiet, loving cats who have been together for

10-years. Cheeky is kid-friendly while I’m a little more laid-back. We are both healthy with a lot of good years ahead of us. BC is the newcomer to the family and he’s a

handsome 2-year-old, neutered Maine Coon mix. He can be a little

skittish but he warms up quickly. If you can help our family, please call

910-285-4155.

COASTAL ANIMAL RESCUE EFFORT (C.A.R.E.)

Are you ready for some fun? I am a little boy named Singer and I love EVERYONE, even dogs. I

play a lot and when I was younger I was playing with a sewing needle

and decided to eat it. Have you guessed how I got my name? I have learned from my mistakes

and hope to find a new home and family to love me. Is it with you?

To adopt me, please call 910-256-2624. if you would like to donate to C.A.R.E, you may visit

www.carewilmington.org and click the donate button. For updates on me and my friends, please like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/carewilmington.

I’m a big, cuddly boy named Otis

and I need a loving home. You see, my

owner went to Heaven and I

sure do miss be-ing part of a fam-ily. I’m extremely affectionate and I welcome atten-tion, whether it’s

kisses, lap-time or cuddles. I get

along great with all the other cats in the playroom -

there simply is not a mean bone in my body. All I

want is love, and when the humans leave the playroom I stand at the glass door, looking at them, hoping they’ll

come back soon. Won’t you give me the family environ-ment I’m longing for? I’m in great health: neutered, vacci-

nated and litterbox-trained. All I need is a human com-panion to make me happy again. Come on over to Pender

Humane Society and let’s fall in love! For hours, direc-tions or other adoption info, call 910-259-7022.

Sponsored in memory of Milo,

the big black dog who stole our hearts! Mommy and Daddy miss you every day!

Adopt-An-ANGEL

◄My name is Kirby and I am a little

shy. I would benefit from

being adopted into a home with another well-

balanced dog. I am

young enough that I

will over-come this if

you’ll be patient and give me TLC and socialization. I am just 8-months old and will probably grow to be only 50

pounds at most. I also need a quiet home without small kids (who can be noisy at times). I am absolutely beautiful

with my pretty golden fur.

◄My name is Bo, and if I do say so myself, I am drop dead gorgeous!! I have deep choco-late fur that is al-

most black. I am a dream on a leash,

have excellent manners and am super easy. I do well with other dogs and I am

house-trained. I weigh about 55 pounds so I am a mid-sized family dog who

is already fixed and vaccinated.

►My name is Belle and I am a vision-impaired Black Lab/Pit

mix who is homeless. I’ve had a rough life so far, having

lived my life in a junk yard, but you can help

change that. I can’t see very well so I can't find my family. Please share your eyes with me and help me. I cannot see out of one

eye and I only see shadows out of my other. I am a gentle, funny, easy dog who gets along with cats and dogs. I do need a patient, stable, quiet family because of my rough

start. I need someone who doesn’t have a lot of company in and out. I like to carry tennis balls and hoard toys! I am house-trained, fixed, vaccinated and heartworm negative.

►My name is Clemson and I am a beautiful boy who will melt your heart. I am loving and I love to

play. I will be a great addition to some

lucky family. I am really good with cats, dogs and even kids,

too. I love to be touched and stroked and I just cannot get enough petting . I am

super friendly and pretty smart. If you would like to know more about me or

would like to inquire about the adoption process, please call 910-392-0557. You

may also visit www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

◄My name is Stella! I am a very sweet girl

who is great with other animals. I

love cats and dogs, but I am fearful of small kids so it would be best if I went to a home with-out them. I re-ceived a clean bill of health, I

am house-trained and I’m mid-sized at about 40 to 50 pounds. I sit,

shake and roll over so I am very smart and eager to please.

►Hello there! My name is Armstrong

and I am a very good boy. I am

happy and exuber-ant. I seem to do

well with other dogs but I’m just not too

fond of cats. I enjoy having fun and I love

to pull my foster mom on a skate-

board or run along-side a bike. I love to play, but I am really calm inside a house. If you are active people, I would even do well in an apartment. I am neutered, heartworm nega-

tive, vaccinated and weigh around 50 to 60 pounds.

My name is Aunna! I’m a 10-week-old girl who is ready to give puppy kisses to my new family! My story begins when

I was born in a kind man’s house. He had taken in my mother as a stray and she gave birth soon after. There were six of us - the man was able to find homes for four and Pender Humane Society found a home for the fifth. That leaves sweet little me! My mother is a pure white

Spitz, just 35 pounds, and my human friends are guessing that my dad may be a Jack Russell or small Hound. Eve-ryone thinks I’ll be medium-sized when fully grown. I am a real doll who loves to play and be cuddled. Hurry up and adopt the last diamond in the treasure chest - that’s me! Call 910-259-7022 and let’s have a cuddle session soon.

I am sponsored by Cindy Meyers in loving memory of Harley and Murphy.

Hello, my name is Micky! I’m a 1-year-old male

Schnauzer. I am a fantastic dog with a sweet

personality and I'll make a great family compan-ion. I am very friendly with

other dogs and I do well with cats. I love people and I get along well with children. I

am house-trained and also crate-trained. I love to play and am an active little pup so couch potatoes

would not be the type of adoptive parents for me! I am also neutered, heartworm negative and microchipped. A

sweetheart like me is very popular so don’t wait too long to apply if you are interested in me! Visit

www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org for an adoption application. You can also call 919-723-7145 if you need

an application mailed or faxed.

Hi, my name is Riley and I’m an almost 2-year-old, very

energetic, Bos-ton Terrier mix who is looking for an active

family to call my own. I get

along great with male dogs and would probably excel in agility-training! I love to run and play and hang out on the couch! I’m very sweet

and snuggly and my foster mom says I will melt your heart. I will need to go on daily walks or runs and will be your best friend for life! If you are interested in adopting me,

please email Boston Terrier Rescue Team of the Carolinas at [email protected] or call 828-778-2045.

Cat Tails

◄My name is Dawn and I’m an 8-month-old female Tabby with a lot of white. I love atten-tion and I’m very much a people cat. I’ve al-ready been spayed and vaccinated so I’m ready to go home with you today!

◄I’m named after the Oscar winner of 2014,

Lupita, and you know how beautiful she is. Does that

give you a hint how gor-geous I must be? I am just

5-months-old, and have very unusual colored long-hair and wonderful tufted ears. If I were a guy, this much ear hair would be

gross, but I’m a cat so it’s cute. I love to play and

want attention on my terms. If you want a cat who should be on People’s most beautiful list, for sure I am that cat.

►I’m Maximilian and I’m a solid white boy with green eyes. I’m just

6-months-old and the last kitten left in my litter.

Everyone else found a forever home and now

it’s my turn. I’m quiet, a little shy and very sweet.

I’m into serious snuggling - like if you sit down, I’m

in your lap.

◄My name is Aster and I’m almost 2-years-old. I’m an orange Tabby girl who may come across shy until we get to know each other. I’m very petite and I love to lay in front of a window. I’ve already been spayed and I’m current on vaccinations, too.

◄My name is Natasha and I’m a 7-month-old

girl who is white with patches of brown

Tabby. I’m a very sweet cat who loves

people and getting attention. I get along well with other cats. I

have already been spayed and I’m current

on vaccinations.

►Where’s my tail? That’s what I keep asking. You see,

I have some Manx in me which means I have no tail.

But I don’t care, less to clean I say. I’m Washington and I am a 6-month-old gray Tabby

boy who is fixed and vacci-nated. If you want someone to play with you and to snug-gle, I am the perfect match.

No need to sign up at match.com, you found the purrfect match right here!

►My friends call me Cupcake and I’m

the last of my litter (we were all fos-

tered at a bakery, hence the name).

I’m a gray Tabby girl who is 19-months-old. At times I can be a little shy and

nervous but I’m very friendly when I get

to know you. I’m very playful and go

nuts for the laser pointer.

◄My name is Marigold and I’m an 18-month-old pastel Calico girl. I’m very sweet, I get along well with cats but I’m not too crazy about kittens. I’ve already been spayed and I’m cur-rent on shots, too.

►My name is Monkey and I’m a 6-year-old Himalayan

mix girl. One of my eyes was injured when I was a

kitten. It’s healed now but I do need you to help me out

and occasionally wipe it with a damp cloth. I get along

with cats and children and I’m quiet and well-behaved.

Hi, my name is Mocha and I am looking for love. I am approximately 3-years-old, I’m current on all my vaccina-

tions and I’m already spayed, too. I do great with all other dogs (big or small), I love kids and I like to play ball.

I know my basic commands including sit and down. I love learning new tricks, too. I like going on walks and

getting to hang out with people. That's why I would love to find a family to love me and for me to love back. If you would like to meet me or if you might even like to foster

me, please call 910-792-1311 or send an email to [email protected].

I am sponsored by Aunt Kerry’s Pet Stop because

Looking for a laid-back, sociable cat who is con-tent to snuggle in your

lap or relax on the couch and keep you

company? Well, take a look at me! My name is

Desdemona and I’m one of the most affec-tionate girls you’ll ever meet. I love everyone and greet all people in

the vicinity with welcom-ing purrs. I’ll even ex-tend my arm to you,

inviting you to touch me. I’m also declawed, so

there’s no fear of getting scratched (as if I even would!). I do have a mild case of

arthritis, but all that means is that I’m content to stay in one section of the house - I won’t be running everywhere and getting into any trouble. My friends at the shelter give me

one glucosamine pill a day and it really helps. It’s inexpen-sive, too! I’m also spayed, vaccinated and litterbox-

trained. Won’t you please come meet me? I promise to make you feel loved from the moment we meet! Call

Pender Humane Society at 910-259-7022 for more info.

I am sponsored in loving memory of Annie Lake, cherished family member to Doug and Lisa from the

◄We two sisters found ourselves at the shelter when our family moved away and couldn’t take us. Oh well, their sad misfortune could be your lucky day because we are two wonderful, loveable girls! My name is Cricket and I’m the chocolate-brown kitty on top. My fur is the color of a tootsie roll, I swear! My Tabby sister, Zoe, is on bottom. We are 4-years-old, spayed, litterbox-trained, friendly to children and accustomed to living with a friendly dog. We are used to living indoors only and love dry food. Double your love and adopt us!

▲Looking for a declawed kitty with the most loving disposition? Well, you’ve found him! My name is Tank and I’m the most affectionate boy ever! I instantly like

everyone I meet and flop over at their feet for belly rubs. I’m a 7-year-old boy who is okay with dogs, other cats, children and adults. I enjoy laps and sunny windows.

Adopt me and you’ll have an instant cuddle buddy!

“Won’t you be MY Valentine?” Those are the words I long to hear. My name is Valentine and I was found by the rail-road tracks almost two years ago. I’ve been at Paw’s Place

ever since. I’m a very healthy 3-year-old Hound mix. I know girls don’t usually share their weight, but I’m fully grown and proud of my figure at 42 pounds! I get along

with most dogs, so if you already have a four-legged family member, I’d like the chance to see how we would play to-

gether. Do you have room in your heart for sweet "Valentine"? Please call Paw’s Place at 910-845-7297 and tell them you’re on your way. We’re open every day from

◄My name is Pepper (A309351) and I’m a mixed breed girl. I’m just 10-months-old and I enjoy feeling loved and being in the great outdoors. I’m a happy dog with a sweet personality. I like body rubs, I’m good on a leash and I know how to sit for treats. I’ll even take them gently from your fingers. I’m very eager to move into a safe home with a family of my own to love. Please come save me.

◄My name is Kitty (A310058) but you can change that if you’d like. Just as long as you come sweep me off my paws and take me home with you. I’m a 1-year-old, spayed Calico with a beautiful face and gor-geous markings. I’m petite, I love to be petted, and I will stand up on my hind legs to push my head into your hand. I’m inside-only, litter-trained and good with kids.

►My name is Henry Jr.

(A249178) and I’m an extremely hand-some boy. I’m a big guy who is 3-years-old. I’m looking for

a new home be-cause my family

had to move. Un-fortunately, the

place they moved to charged too much for me to live there

so here I am - sitting in a shelter waiting for you to

come make every-thing better. I’m a lover, I’m social, I’m very cuddly, I like exploring my sur-

roundings and I enjoy being petted. I’m an inside-only kitty who is good with children, dogs and other cats.

►It’s not fair - I’m homeless through no fault of my own. My

name is Izzy (A309003) and I don’t enjoy life here at the

shelter. It’s so overwhelming to me. I want to be in a home

again - enjoying everyday, playing with toys and pouncing on them, being loved on

and cuddled, and giving sandpaper

kisses. I’m vaccinated, spayed and ready to go home with you right this minute!

►You would think after loving my family for

13-years, finding a new home wouldn’t be on my daily list of chores. Well, it is and I was abandoned

in a Rubbermaid bin. My name is Stormy

(A308904) and I’m an inside-only, super

friendly, big girl who loves neck and chin

scratches. I’m purry and very eager to make you feel loved. I promise to greet you like we’re long lost friends. Remember:

One thing that never slows down in a senior pet is their capacity for love - and I’m suuuper loving. I will roll over, get up and rub against

your legs and finish it out by nuzzling into your hand.

◄When I was surren-dered to the shelter, I was extremely thin. I’ve been eating the good food here and I’m on my way back to my ideal weight. I’m Mack (A310559) and I’m a Yellow Labrador who’s a great kisser. I’m a good boy, and I know how to sit, shake and lay down on command. I’m eager to please and want nothing more in this world than to feel loved and to return that love.

Hello there, my name is Pepper! I have a sad story to

tell you, but I’m sure one day the ending will be a happy one! You see, I was found abandoned in a ditch in Hamp-

stead. When I got to the vet’s office, they discovered

that I am also blind. But wait! Just like they say, there is a

silver lining to every cloud. Mine

is that I can still see shadows and I can

walk around just fine. I tilt my head in order to see better and sense what’s around me. I am a very sweet boy who absolutely loves all people. I do well with other dogs, too (girls especially), as long as we are introduced slowly. In

fact, I would probably benefit from another dog in the home to act as my ’seeing eye dog’. I am young, between

12 and 18-months-old, and I weigh 40 pounds. Please contact Pender Humane Society if you are interested in

adopting me! Their number is 910-259-7022.

I am sponsored by Top Toad in the Cotton Exchange in Downtown Wilmington, NC. Thank you!

My name is Kibby and I am a sassy little Calico. I love to play and have fun. I will let you pet me and fall in love with me - then I can drop you like a hot potato in true ultimate cat fashion. I am the cat for the true cat

fancier. Have you ever met one like me? Calicos and Torties tend to have the reputation I am talking about

and I am as true to that reputation as they come. I need a servant who will feed me, admire me and pet me

some times, but understand I have moods. I may love you one minute and blow you off the next. Do you think there is someone out there who can accommodate my needs? If you would like to know more about me, give

Adopt-An-ANGEL a call at 910-392-0557.

I am sponsored by Perry Davis. Thank you!

URGENT, URGENT! My Time Is Running Out!

My name is Mama (A013445) and I’m feeling a bit over-whelmed. Does it show in

my sad face? I am not used to being in a kennel, sur-

rounded by other dogs. For some reason, my owner did-

n’t want me anymore and brought me to the shelter.

I’m a 4-year-old white Boxer mix girl who would desper-

ately love to be part of a fam-ily again. I’ve shown no ag-

gression to any of the staff or the other animals; I just seem confused as to why I’m here! I hope you’ll come visit and get to know me. But please

hurry - there are just too many dogs arriving at the shelter and not enough kennels to hold us all. My adoption fee includes Distemper/Parvo vac-

cine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and my spay surgery. The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more information, please call Pender

County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484 or email [email protected]. Thanks for reading my story!

I am sponsored in appreciation of everyone who has

rescued a homeless animal.

◄Hello there, my name is Sarge! My

littermates and I were so lucky that a kind gentleman found us and took us in. We were bottlefed until we could eat on our own. I’m a little shy

around new dogs, but once I’m around them a bit I’m fine. I also

think I’m special because I have two

different colored eyes! Oh, I sure

hope you like water, because I love it! I am ready for adoption - that means vet

visits, shots, neutering and microchipping.

◄I’m a Belgian Malinois mix and my name is

Sagan. I’m a 6-month-old puppy who likes to be active. After all, I am a herding dog! In other

words, I do have a lot of energy. A good amount of exercise (although we should wait until I’m at least a year old before

we start running or jogging together) and mental stimulation is what I need. I’m friendly and sociable and get along with other animals. We think it would be great if my new family

already had experience with dogs. Come out and meet me!

◄It’s me, Tybee. I wish I could figure out how to get people to consider me for adoption. I've been here at Paw’s Place for quite

some time, and it hurts to see other dogs come and go. We know that I used to get along with cats and while I get along with dogs

here, we would have to have a meet and greet if you have another dog. I can be a little shy when

you first come to my ken-nel, but I'm a very loving

and loyal senior dog. One of my favorite things to do is to be walked on a leash.

Please come to Paw’s Place and get to know me!

◄Keely is my name and we think I was born at the end of June. I was dropped off in a box on someone’s porch and taken to the vet to be checked out. Then I

came to Paw’s Place! I have been placed with 3

new puppies from the kennel next to mine.

We’ve already become good friends. I would

love to have a family of my own that knows how to raise a puppy. That way I know they will un-derstand my needs. I

am already spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

◄Jeter here – I’m one of

Piper’s Pup-pies. Just about all of my siblings have been

adopted. I’m being very

patient waiting for my turn. I

know the right family is out there, we just haven’t found each other yet. It sure would be nice to go to a home with another dog so that he or she would show me the

ropes. I’m used to being around a lot of dogs and am so friendly. Come out to Paw’s Place and ask for the hand-some brown pup who likes the water! I’m ready to go!

◄Hi, I’m Ruger! I’m a male Lab mix, about 4-years-old. I recently spent time in a foster home and went to dog training. Yeah! I graduated with a certificate! I walk very well on a leash and know how to sit and shake. But most of all, I want to be with peo-ple. I’m at Paw’s Place and you can come visit me any day from 9-Noon. Tell them you saw me here!

that I have the cutest little white milk moustache under my nose. See it? My friends at the shelter think I’m simply

adorable and you will too! I’ve been at the shelter for

over 30 days so I really need to find a new home soon! I love being with people and enjoy being held. I don’t wiggle to get down. I am

also playful and wouldn’t turn down a toy or two in my new home. Come adopt me today!

NOW OPEN ON SUNDAYS! 1pm to 4pm

Please Adopt! WE’RE OVERCROWDED AND NEAR CAPACITY.

◄Need a Lap Cat? Just adopt me! I’m a super-affectionate girl who will be more than happy to cuddle in your arms and give you all the love you need. I’m Amy (A013994) and I’m a 4-month-old fe-male Tabby who was found as a stray. I also enjoy playing and would probably have a great time with one of those laser-pointer things. Take me home!

►Oh, if only this photo shoot had lasted longer!

All I wanted to do was curl up on this human’s

chest and purr away. My name is Lacey

(A014009) and I’m a gorgeous, solid-gray girl

who was found by the roadside as a stray. I’m

most definitely friendly and will always wel-

come your loving touch and embrace. Please get me out of my cage

and into your arms!

◄I’m an adorable kit-ten, just 12-weeks-old, who is snuggly, purry and sweet as can be! My name is Misha (A014058) and I’m practically perfect in the eyes of the shelter staff. They say I keep a tidy kennel, am al-ways friendly and no trouble at all! So why am I in a shelter and not someone’s beloved family member? ◄I’ve been a house

cat all my life, but my owner recently had to go into a nursing home and I was brought to the shelter. She named me Baby (A014012) because that’s what I was to her. Won’t someone please have sympa-thy for me and take me home? I’m a very sweet 5-year-old girl who enjoys rubs on my neck and chin. I love to be held and want to be part of a family again. Please?

►Hi friends! My name is Roscoe

(A013951) and I’m a 3-year-old boy who loves to play

and be with people. I’m house-trained,

good with other ani-mals and adults and I’m very sweet and cute! I would be a great companion to older children or any

child who knows how to respect dogs.

Can you tell I only have three legs? I do, but it doesn’t

slow me down at all! I love life and want to enjoy it with you!

mommies and daddies who care for homeless animals.

Hi there! You’re look-ing at your new best friend. My name is Levi and I’m a very loving boy, just 10-

months-old. I weigh in at a perfectly sized 45 pounds - not too

big and not too small - and they tell me I’m a Shepherd/Lab mix. I just know that I will make you happy be-cause I’m friendly, calm and I listen to

commands, such as ‘sit’. I play well with other dogs, too. Do you have a lonely

pooch at home who could use a new playmate? Why not come over to the shelter and meet me? I might be just the

boy for you! For driving directions or other information, please call Pender Humane Society 910-259-7022. See

got three great choices

right here! Hop in the car and

free to pick us up and give us a cuddle, we love it! Our purrs will soothe your soul. Let’s have this get-together soon!

►I’m Cinnamon and I’m a very sweet and friendly girl. I’d be

great in a home with kids ages 10 and older (since I’m playful like a puppy) and I’m happy to be with other me-dium to large dogs.

I’m just 1-year-old and I’m ready to start my

new life! My friends at the shelter rescued me on the very day

I was scheduled to be euthanized at an Ani-mal Control in another

county. That was a very happy day for me, and now I’m hoping for another

happy day, the one where I meet my new family!

►This is your lucky day! Want to know why? Be-

cause I’m a darling puppy and I’m looking for you! My name is Morena and I’m a smart, fun and friendly girl who is ready to play fetch. Yes, I will get the ball and bring it back to you! I also

walk well on a leash and can sit on command! At

just 9-months-old, I have so many happy years ahead to

share with you. I’m good with other dogs and just

want to be loved!

◄Looking for a sweet girl? I’m Dakota and I hope you’ll consider me! I’m a healthy, happy and friendly 10-month-old girl who will brighten up anyone’s life. I am spayed, vaccinated and eager to please. I listen well and I sit on command. They tell me I’m a Lab mix. I get along wonderfully well with other dogs, too! Won’t you hop in the car and come meet me?

►SMALL DOG ALERT! Look how cute I am in my doggie sweater. I’d be so adorable prancing around your house! My name is Stella and I’m a sweet Chihuahua mix girl. I’m

currently enjoying my stay in a temporary foster home where I am thriving! Now

that I know how great family life is, I can’t wait to be

adopted! I am friendly and loving and I enjoy playing

with other small dogs. I en-joy walks on a leash and

naps in the sun. I’m already spayed, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention. Call the shelter to meet me!

►You say that camera you’re holding will help

everyone see how cute I am? That’s great! My

name is Dixie and I’m a Hound mix girl, about 2 to 3-years-old. I was found

all by myself on Route 210 toward Hampstead.

I’ve had all my shots and am spayed. I’m very

sweet and I get along with all other dogs and

cats. I’m house-trained, too! Do yourself a big

favor and come meet me!

My name is Kiki and they tell me that I’m a really great girl. I am amazing with other animals, easy, quiet, low

maintenance, house-trained, gentle, eager to please, and grateful. It's unbelievable that I was found almost dead on the side of the road and no one was looking for me. I have been nursed back to health and I’m now ready for

would be your best friend forever. If you

◄My name is Buddy and I am a very handsome, mature gentle-man with a super sweet disposi-tion. Everyone who meets me just loves me. I am a Smooth Coated Collie and Greyhound mix. I am 11-years-old but you would never know it. The vet says I am in excellent health, although I do take one pheno-barbital daily. I get along with dogs, cats, children and of course, people. I am super friendly and so very good in the house. I don't chew or do any of that puppy stuff. If you are look-ing for easy, I am your man.

◄Bonjour, my name is Jake and I am a 14-year-old Dachshund. My

family had to give me up due to their grandson’s aller-gies. I am such a

sweet little guy with no health

problems. I have an adorable per-

sonality but mostly I like to sleep and

cuddle. I am house-trained and fully vetted and I am so anxious to have a home of my own. If you are looking for

a small dog with lots of love to give, please adopt me!

►Hi, I'm Dolly, a very sweet, ener-getic black and white

female Shih Tzu. I was

born 3-years ago and

adopted by a family who chained me up outside and never

gave me any medical care,

much less love and attention. Since being rescued, I've bonded very quickly to my foster mom and will do the same with you. I really need a stable environment. Since I had never had vet care, I am blind in one eye and my vision is compromised in the other. I can see out of my somewhat

good eye but need patience. If you will take a chance on me, I promise to be your very best friend. I really am a lover. I will

need eye drops in my eyes a few times a week.

►Hi there, I am Kahlua and I am a stunning Chocolate Lab and Pit mix. I

am absolutely crazy about people and I

get so excited just to have someone pet me. However, I am

great with some dogs and not so

great with others. When I was a puppy, I had an injury that never healed properly so I had to have my rear leg amputated - but this does not slow me down at all. I am praying for my

forever home to come along as I have been searching for a long time. Please someone take a chance on me!

◄Hello, my name is Precious and boy, do I live up to my name. I am a gor-geous gold and white, 4-year-old, female Chihuahua. I am pretty much per-fect! I am com-pletely vetted and ready for my new home. If you love Chihuahuas you will love me.

▲Oh my gosh, here I am. My name is Winnie and I am a young, healthy Chihuahua and Terrier mix. I am

only 9-months-old and I was turned in to the shelter with my brother, Eddie, who has already been adopted. I am a little shy when I meet strangers but it does not take me long to warm up to you. I have been spayed

and completely vetted and I am good to go.

◄Hi there! My name is Clancy and I’m a young boy, just 7-months-old. You’d be so

happy to have a friendly,

loving fellow like me as a lifetime com-

panion. I walk well on a leash, I play well with others and I’m a sweet-heart to people. Oh, and I’m a very handsome Lab/Pit mix. Would you hop in the car and come meet me? I’m great!

▲Talk about a lovey dovey! Oh my!! My name is Caesar and I am such a baby! I love to roll around and show off my belly. I also love ear rubs. I’m a neutered, orange

Tabby boy, approximately 4-years-old. Adopt me and I’ll show you just how affectionate and loving a cat can be!

▲My name is Prince and I’m a medium-haired furr-ball. I’m simply beautiful - orange and white with the prettiest

plume of a tail! I’m just a tad bit shy at first, but when I warm up - watch out! I am a love bug! I came in with my brother Caesar, pictured at top, but we do not have to be adopted together. I’m around 4-years-old and ready to go home!

►I’m Sadie and I’m the sweetest girl!

I’m a Beagle/Hound mix, 30 pounds and 6-years-old. I came

to SOAR because my person passed away. I’ve always

been an inside dog and I’m spayed, up

to date on shots, house-trained, very

submissive - but I like other dogs, peo-ple and I don’t even mind cats! I love to

sleep in the bed with you at night!

►Hi, I’m Breezy! I’m a very affection-

ate and adorable 3-year-old Maine Coon mix who is

neutered and vacci-nated. I have tested

positive for FeLV, but please don’t let that stop you from

coming to meet me! I can live a long life with the same good care you’d give any other kitty. For an-

swers to your ques-tions about FeLV, please feel free to

call or come on by!

►Hello, everyone! I am Lyla, a 3-year-old

female Boxer mix. I am very athletic and don’t mind going to a home with humans

who like to be active. A home with another friendly dog like me

would be right up my alley, too! I am also

very smart – I can sit, shake and give kisses. All these qualities and sweet to boot, yet over

two years here and nobody seems to want me. I don’t get it. I’m

truly a gem waiting to be found!

Page 38: PawPrints Magazine October 2014

My name is Harley and I am a super, loveable BIG

cat. I do great with cats, kids and dogs, too. In fact, I am part dog or

maybe I was a dog in a former

life. I follow you around

and want to be near you just like a dog. I

am a little older and I have

diabetes which is easily con-trolled with

insulin. The vet thinks it is possible that I can get off this insulin soon and maybe get it managed with just special food. That’s my goal along with finding a loving home. It is very easy for you to give me shots twice a day and I am feeling so much better now. If you are interested in meeting me,

please call and my groupie girls can tell you more about me and more about this diabetes stuff. Honestly, it’s easy stuff and not too much money either. Adopt-An-ANGEL’s phone number is 910-392-0557 - I highly recommend you call it.

My name is Feather and I'm a spayed

Boxer/Bulldog mix girl who's 1½-years-old.

Friendly doesn't even begin to describe me - I

love everyone I meet and am so eager to show what a sweet,

playful and happy gal I am!! I can't wait to share my outgoing

personality with a lov-ing family so hurry on

down and see if I'm the love of your life! If you

would like to know more about adopting me, please call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557. You may visit us at www.adoptanangel.net for more details.

I'm Pepper, a 1½-year-old male Lab/Boxer mix.

Happy doesn't even begin to describe me! I'm sunshine on four legs, guaranteed to make you smile! I

can't wait to find my soul mate who will take me jogging on the beach, hiking in the woods and, of

course, let me have dibs on the couch! I am already neutered and vaccinated. Please consider adopting me - I could

be your perfect sidekick! For more information or to adopt me, call Adopt-An-ANGEL at 910-392-0557.

I'm Lady and I've been waiting for my forever

home for a while. I'm a 3-year-old Lab mix with a beautiful black and white

coat. I'm quite athletic and I'd be a great exercise part-ner. I love the water, too. I love being around people and am eager to please. I

was treated for heart-worms, I’m spayed and I’m up to date on vaccinations. I get along with most dogs,

but sometimes like to chase cats. To meet me

and see for yourself what a great dog I am, please call 910-271-3101.

Hi, my name is Molly and I did not have a very good beginning. I was a stray who was hit by a car and

brought to the shelter. I had some internal injuries that

needed repair, so off to the vet I went. Not only did

they repair my injuries, but they spayed and vaccinated me as well, so I'm good as new and looking for a for-

ever family. I'm a 4-month-old Shepherd mix and I'm

told I couldn't be any sweeter! I love kids and am learning to walk on a leash.

Could you adopt me and give me a happy ending? Please call 910-271-3101 to meet me.

Ready for a great companion to take

on walks or snuggle on the couch? My name is Betty and

I’m a 5 to 6-year-old, 38 pound, spayed Corgi mix who is

healthy and vacci-nated! I like to hang out with humans and I’m a sweet girl! I am blind in my right eye and have

limited vision in my left. This makes me a little unsure in new settings. In a home setting, I get along great with my foster brother. Given my low key demeanor with small dogs, everyone expects me to do great

with cats, too! Contact Ava at 704-560-9517 or Leslie at 910-352-5150 if you are interested in meeting me!

My name is Tess and I’m 4-years-old, spayed, house-

trained and ready for a great home! I love life and meeting new people, I’m

great with kids and I’m very smart! I would do best in a family setting with another dog my size (preferably not

under 35 pounds) and it would be best if my new

home did not have cats. I am energetic so a jog or long walk with me in the morning would be the best

routine to keep me (and you) fit and less anxious when family members have to leave. Check out this great video of me online at http://youtu.be/IB7A9TNuens. Please contact Katie at 410-441-9241 to meet me!

Hey, hey - I'm over here. I know all these dogs and cats are awesome, but check me out! My name is Jordan,

after North Carolina's most famous sports hero. I am just a pup at 9-months-old. I am a bit of a shy little guy, but I

Have you ever seen a more handsome or talented dog? One more thing: unlike Michael Jordan, I don't dribble!

white with a spotted ear like a Dalmatian, while

the other half oozes black and tan hand-

someness! Adopt me and we’ll make friends all over the neighbor-hood - everyone will want to get to know

me! My name is CoCo Marie (A013729)

and I’m a 2-year-old Boxer mix girl. I have been friendly to all the

children I’ve met and I get along great with the other dogs in the play yard. I have a friendly, outgoing and happy

personality and would be a fun sidekick for all sorts of ad-ventures, or we can just stay home and chill out together.

But please hurry! Dogs arrive at the shelter every day and there’s just not enough room for us all. My adoption fee

includes Distemper/Parvo vaccine, Kennel Cough vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, deworming, 30 day flea/tick treatment and

my spay surgery! The shelter is now open on Sundays, from 1pm to 4pm, in case you can’t come during the week. It’s also open on Saturdays from Noon to 4pm. For more info, call Pender County Animal Shelter at 910-259-1484

or email [email protected]. Just wait until you see me - I’m so pretty!

I am sponsored in honor of Kathleen M. Langone.

on South College Road in Wilmington from 10am to 6pm. Volunteer shifts generally run from 10am to 2pm or 2pm to 6pm one day on the weekend. You can sign up weekly so come when you can. There are also a few weekly shifts open for cage cleaning at various pet stores throughout the week and some transport options, too. It can be very meaningful and rewarding to help a homeless animal find its forever home. For more information, please call Art at 203-994-3765. To our extended Wilmington family, We want to thank you for 16 years of caring for your family’s pets. Porters Neck Veterinary Hospital started out in 1999 as the first veterinary clinic in the Porters Neck Shopping Center with one doctor and one employee. It has since turned into a thriving family business that supports over 25 employees and serves thousands of patients. Many of you have been with us from the begin-ning, taking the journey with us. You’ve been with us as our two children were born, and we’ve had the pleasure and pain of caring for your pets together, as they’ve aged throughout their entire lives. Writing this letter is bittersweet, because we are proud of what we have accomplished. We are also proud of Dr. Rebecca Simmons Resnick who will be stepping into our shoes as of October 1. Rebecca started out with us as one of our first employees, and stayed with us in spirit as she fin-ished veterinary school. She has been a trusted associate for over nine years. We are proud to say that we’ve gone through considerable measures to keep our hospital out of corporate hands, and in her capable ones, where it belongs. We are also happy to announce that we will both be staying on as associates in a part-time manner. We feel that we will be able to better devote all of our work-ing time to our patients in this way. We hope the transition will be smooth, and we know the care will remain the best in Wilming-ton. Please help us welcome Rebecca and her family by keeping your business local and out of the big box stores and corporations who threaten our way of practicing honest, personalized medicine. Thank you for 16 wonderful years of entrusting us to the care of your pets, and we look forward to taking this new journey with you for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Ron and Sharon Harris, DVM

We are all from different Breed Rescues. Please read our stories!

Breed Rescues

BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE TEAM CAROLINA

My name is Puggie and I’m a gorgeous 5-year-

old boy who is looking for a furever home. I would

prefer a home where I can be the only dog. I’m

very loveable, perfectly house-trained and a

great companion. I’m already neutered, up to

date on shots, micro-chipped and ready to be

adopted. For more information, please email [email protected]

or call 828-778-2045.

CAROLINA POODLE RESCUE

Do you have a special place in your heart and home for an active senior? Then you need to meet

me, Snoopy! I’m estimated to be 12-years-old and I’m a chocolate,

miniature Poodle. I weigh 12 pounds and was surrendered to the Greenville shelter (along with two other Poodles) because of

my owner's health. I’m very sweet and love attention. I love to follow you around and be with you and I’m great with other dogs and cats. I had cataracts but thanks to some very special donors, I had cataract surgery and my vision has been re-stored! I’m really loving life and thoroughly enjoying every-

thing I see. Each day presents a new journey for me. If you would like to take this journey with me, call 864-489-3559 or go to our website www.carolinapoodlerescue.org.

GREAT DANE RESCUE ALLIANCE

I'm a 19-month-old Great Dane named Titus! I love to

play fetch and tug-of-war and I walk phenomenally on a leash! I know some basic commands such as sit and stay, but my "sit" is more of a "lay down" since I can't sit on the hard-wood floors without sliding

down. I get along great with other dogs but I would prefer a

home without children. I'm really a good dog and you can tell I'm trying to please you, I

just don't know exactly how to all the time just yet. I'm also house and crate-trained! To adopt me, call 704-559-4121

or email [email protected].

SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS

Hi, I’m Blossom! I’m a young, black Miniature Schnauzer. I’m also

house-trained, spayed, vaccinated, micro-

chipped, good with kids and good with other

dogs. I’m a very sweet girl who is easy to deal with. I was once run-ning out of time at a

local shelter, but now I’m waiting for my forever family to take me home and love me. If you are interested in me and would like to read more

about me or other pets up for adoption, please visit www.schnauzerrescueofthecarolinas.org. Please call 919-723-7145 if you need an application mailed or faxed to you.

CAROLINA BASSET HOUND RESCUE

My name is Bailey! I am 11-years young with a little dimin-

ished sight but I still have some bounce in my step! I

found myself with a family who didn’t care too much about me

and when Animal Control came to visit us, they took me

with them. Luckily, CBHR brought me into their program and now I’m living with a great

foster family! I really want to find my forever home where I can snuggle with my humans! To make me a member of your family, please call 919-708-4247 or visit our website

at www.cbhr.com. Also, we are always short on foster homes! If you have ever thought about fostering, please

contact CBHR for more details.

You know – life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and sniff around

once in a while, you could miss it. Hello, I’m Betsy. I sure am thankful for the good folks at CBHR and

especially my foster mom. She has taken care of all my ailments

and I am good to go! I’ve put on some weight, cour-

tesy of some top notch groceries. Don’t you need an adorable, sleuthing hound

like myself to help you sniff out the finer things in life? Since I’m feeling better, I like to play with all my four legged

pals, including 3 cats (even 1 grumpy one!). I love car rides and I do a pretty sporty job at the end of a leash. To make me a member of your family, call 919-708-4247 or

visit our website at www.cbhr.com.

Hello there! My name is Tripod Jack. I’ve not had an easy 5-years of

life, but you would never know it by my sweet dis-position! I was living as an indoor/outdoor kitty

when I was attacked by a coyote! Unfortunately,

the doctors were not able to save my back leg

which had been mangled in the attack. Also, while at the doctor’s office, it was discovered that I’m FIV positive. But all this is no problem for me! I

get along just great on three legs and I can live a long, nor-mal life with FIV, just like any other kitty who is treated well in

a loving home. I’m just a big ol' love bucket who loves to play and get head rubs - so please come out and meet me! For driving directions or more information about adopting an

FIV cat, please call SOAR at 910-457-6340.

I am sponsored by SOAR in loving memory of all their wonderful, furry friends who made it safely

to the Rainbow Bridge.

Hello up there! Looking for a sweet Boxer mix puppy?

Look no further! My name is Jet and I’m a 6-month-old baby

boy. I am very friendly, I love to sit in your lap and I get along well with other dogs. I also know some simple com-mands like sit, stay and no. I bet you’re

wondering how a smart, fantastic guy like me ended up in

the shelter. Well, my owner is in the mili-

tary and, due to housing, he could not keep me. So now’s your chance to snap me up! (I’m also neutered

and vaccinated.) Come on over to Pender Humane So-ciety and let’s fall in love! For hours, driving directions or

other adoption info, please call 910-259-7022.

I am sponsored by Top Toad in the Cotton Exchange in Downtown Wilmington, NC. Thank you!
