Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
“”This is my Body. This is my Blood” Today we solemnly celebrate Christ's Eucharistic presence amongst us, “the gift by excellence”: «It is my body (...). This is my blood» (Mk 14:22-24). Let us get ready to stimulate our soul with the “Eucharistic wonder” (St. John Paul II). In their Passover meal the Jewish people commemorated the history of salvation, the wonders God bestowed upon his peo-ple, especially their deliverance from slav-ery in Egypt. During this commemoration, each family ate the Paschal Lamb. Jesus Christ becomes the new and definite Pas-chal Lamb sacrificed in the Cross and eaten in the Eucharistic Bread. The Eucharist is sacrifice: the sacrifice of Christ's immolated body and his blood shed for all of us. This was already antici-pated in the Last Supper. And, through-out history, it will be renewed with each Eucharist. In the Eucharist we find our nourishment: it is the new nourishment that provides the Christian with life and strength on his way towards the Father. The Eucharist is a mystery of faith. It is the Church's center and key of life. It is the source and the deeper roots of the Christian existence. Without the Eucharis-tic presence the Christian faith would be just reduced to nothing. Christ loves us because He receives the life from the Father. We shall love by receiving the life from the Father, espe-cially through the Eucharistic nourish-ment. I invite you all to participate at the novena to our Patron Saint Anthony of Padua, which is going to start on Monday June 4th after mass. Thank you for giving your contribution to the second collection for Tomor-row’s Priests of our Diocese. We have adult confirmation at the Ca-thedral June 6th and we have two candidates from our parish that will
receive the sacrament of Confirma-tion, their names are Jose Villalobos & Jose Ramirez, please keep them in your prayers.

Retrouvaille is a lifeline for mar-riages........a program to help couples heal and renew their hurting mar-riages. The Retrouvaille Program is for Married Couples Facing Difficult Chal-lenges in their Relationship. A Marriage program that helps couples restore their
marriage and rebuild a loving relation-ship. A Christian marriage program, Catholic in origin, where couples of all faiths or no faith background are encour-aged to attend. Primarily a practical pro-gram to improve communication, build stronger marriages, and help couples reconnect. Presenters are not trained marriage counselors, but rather couples sharing their personal stories of marital struggles and the tools they used to re-discover their love. Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas:
«Éste es mi cuerpo. Ésta es mi
sangre» Hoy, celebramos solemnemente la pre-
sencia eucarística de Cristo entre noso-
tros, el “don por excelencia”: «Éste es mi cuerpo (...). Ésta es mi sangre» (Mc
14,22.24). Dispongámonos a suscitar en nuestra alma el “asombro eucarísti-
co” (San Juan Pablo II). El pueblo judío en su cena pascual con-
memoraba la historia de la salvación,
las maravillas de Dios para con su pue-blo, especialmente la liberación de la
esclavitud de Egipto. En esta conme-moración, cada familia comía el cordero
pascual. Jesucristo se convierte en el nuevo y definitivo cordero pascual sa-
crificado en la cruz y comido en Pan Eucarístico.
La Eucaristía es sacrificio: es el sacrifi-
cio del cuerpo inmolado de Cristo y de su sangre derramada por todos noso-
tros. En la Última Cena esto se anti-cipó. A lo largo de la historia se irá ac-
tualizando en cada Eucaristía. En Ella tenemos el alimento: es el nuevo ali-
mento que da vida y fuerza al cristiano mientras camina hacia el Padre.
La Eucaristía es misterio de fe. Es el
centro y la clave de la vida de la Igle-sia. Es la fuente y raíz de la existencia
cristiana. Sin vivencia eucarística la fe cristiana se reduciría a nada.
Cristo nos ama porque recibe la vida del Padre. Nosotros amaremos reci-
biendo del Padre la vida, especialmente a través del alimento eucarístico.
Los invito a todos a participar en
la novena a nuestro patrón San Antonio de Padua, que va a co-
menzar el lunes 4 de junio des-pués de la Misa. Gracias por dar su
contribución a la segunda colecta para los sacerdotes de mañana de
nuestra diócesis. Tenemos confir-mación para adultos en la Catedral
el 6 de junio y tenemos dos candi-
datos de nuestra parroquia sus nombres son José Villalobos y José
