Springboard – B Total allocation - £10.4m

The Springboard project is delivered by Humber Learning Consortium through the ESF It is a large £10.4 million programme, with two distinct projects (Hull and the Rest of Humber). This is a unique partnership project that hosts a keyworker model, run by the local authorities, that is seen as pivotal to the success of the Springboard project, as it is very much learner – led and involves key worker support throughout the learner’s journey. The Springboard model consists of 19 delivery providers and it requires all partners to work in collaboration. Provider workshops are held at regular intervals to ensure understanding of the programme and consistency of information regarding the contract, as well as an opportunity to network and share best practice.

2014-2020 Operational Programme supported by the Youth Employment Initiative, aimed at long-term unemployed or economically inactive people aged 16-29 years in Hull (YEI) and 16-25 years rest of Humber (ESF). Dedicated action plans are in place to enable the project to engage and support more Inactive Disabled and Lone Parent Participants, and over half of the resources are dedicated to supporting this group. Exploring Opportunities is an employment and social inclusion programme delivered through a partnership of 19 Humber organisations including the 4 local authorities, led by Humber Learning Consortium. The partnership brings a wealth of skills and expertise together to engage / support socially excluded people and help them progress into employment, enterprise, and further learning The project is funded through ESF and Big Lottery over a 3 year period from November 2016 to October 2019, with a total contract value of 3.23m The partnership’s aim is to improve the lives of 850 unemployed and economically inactive people aged 25+ in the Humber LEP area (Hull, East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire), by increasing participants’ employability skills, self-confidence, local knowledge, community engagement, and personal resilience.

The target of 850 participants comprises: 50/50 female & male split 20% Unemployed/ long-term unemployed 80% economically inactive 15% aged 50+ 40% disabilities/health condition 8% BAME 15% Lone parents 20% Other thematic groups

£1m Community Grants ESF Community Grants are part of the European Social Fund (ESF) programme which is distributing small grants in the Humber, East Riding, York and North Yorkshire region. The aim of the fund is to help unemployed people progress towards employment through access to learning and training opportunities. Funded activities must be aimed at unemployed individuals

Intervention 11 – (Economic Development) - The Humber Energy Campus

Specific developments at Goole College; Grimsby Institute; East Riding College; Bishop Burton College and North Lindsey College Quarterly reporting mechanism

Supporting 1,500 adults to take up relevant courses over three years with 760 additional people qualified to Level 3. Latest quarterly reports show that each of the five developments supported through City Deal have recruited learners above the planned levels, this includes increased numbers undertaking relevant level 3 provision.
