Denmark presented the requirements ofSCENE and introduced activities of BetterWorld to the participants and the ScoutYouth. Mr. De Leon Bernado fromPhilippines and Mr. Uzair Kamal fromWSB/APR also shared experiences thePilot Project in Philippines.

The participants planted saplings during

theWorkshop in the Campsite. Earlier Mr.Jose Rizal Pangilinan planted threesaplingsat ScoutGlobal village.

The closing Ceremony was held on 18September, 2015. Senator Nehal Hashmiwas the Chief Guest Mr. MuhammadShuaib, Workshop Director presented himthe Solar Scarf & Souvenir of theWorkshop while the Internationalparticipants also presented token of loveto the honourable Guest. Ghaffar hosted Mr. Lehri & his contingentfrom Bharat Scouts & Guides in Islamabad&Lahore .This five days workshop was organized atGlobal Villagewhere Solar Badge was alsolaunched on 16 September 2015 and BoyScouts presented solar activities.

The Recommendation Committee of APRWorkshop on Environment Education inScoutingheldat Islamabad, Pakistan from14 to 18 September 2015, has thepleasure in recommending the followingpoints for the kind perusal and necessaryaction by all the NSOs of APR Region fortheir effective implementation. TheRecommendation Committee whilediscussion reachedata consensus that:

“The Earth our only home is underpressure…Without a sustainableenvironmental base, we will have littlehope of attaining our objectives forreducing poverty and hunger andimprovinghealth andhumanwell-being.”The Recommendation Committeepleased to propose Thailand or India asthe Host Country for the next APRWorkshop on Environment Education inScouting.

RECOMMENDATIONS:In v iew of the forego ing i t i srecommended:

1. The NSOs market and promoteefforts for environmental education inscouting fromtop tograss root level.2. M e m b e r c o u n t r i e s a r e

recommended to collaborate withcommittees and strengthen systems forpar t i c i p a tor y p l a nn in g a t SubAssociations / District / Groups / Unitlevel by reinforcing community action insustainable development processes andfeedback.3. To i n s t i t u t i o na l i ze l o c a lenvironmental management in thecontextof sustainabledevelopment.4. Every NSO must have an updatedknowledge and clear identification of theenvironmental authorities - their role,functions, and powers - at each level ofmanagement andgovernment.5. T o d e v e l o p n a t i o n a lenvironmental training programs atvarious levels and spheresof local, public,entrepreneurial, or communityaction.6. To create or strengthen nationaland regional information networks thatwill support the processes of improvinglocal environmental education.7. Adult leader training on thedeliveryofWSEP shouldbe introducedbyNSOs using existing environmentaleducation teams/ resources.8. To encourage the NSOs to ensurethat the principles of WSEP areincorporated into all of their scoutingsections.9. To encourage theNSOs to developp a r t n e r s h i p s w i t h NGO s a n dgovernmental bodies to deliver WSEPmoreeffectively.10. NSOs are encouraged to developSCENES Centre with the support fromtheirNationalHeadquarters.11. A Review Committee should beestablished to review implementation ofWSEPatnational level.

12. Pakistan Boy Scouts Association(PBSA) have developed and implementedsyllabus for solar badge during 5th APRWorkshop on Environmental Education inScouting, which may be considered astemplate by other NSOs for thedevelopment of syllabus for the similarbadges.13. To carry out useful activities inpotential countries also; such as WSEPandSolar activities. Thiswill strongly helpthem for growing their membership andget recognized by their communities andgovernment.14. We thanks to all NSOs who havesent their participants to attend thisWorkshop.

formal introduction of the Scouts Go Solarproject into the World Scout EnvironmentProgramme(WSEP).Prior to this official launch, annualworkshops have been organized at theKandersteg International Scout Centre inSwitzerland where Solar Ambassadorsfrom all continents gained practicalexperienceonbasic solarenergyprinciplesand concepts including the self assemblingof a solar torch for scouts and a do-it-yourself solar suitcase for camps, but alsoforemergencyelectric supply.A specific objective of the Scouts Go Solarproject is also the launch of the “SolarChallenge Badge Handbook” for YouthLeaders that can be adopted by NationalScout Organizat ions (NSOs) . Thehandbook is intended to allow Scouts fromall over theWorld and other Youth Leadersto organize and run their own solar energyrelated activities with children and youngpeople.“Scouts Go Solar” will also be themessagetowards the United Nations ClimateConference inDecember, 2015. TheScoutswill be first walking the talk at the 11Conference of the Youth with a solarworkshop and then at the 21 Conferenceof Parties to present the Scouts voice onsustainable solutions. Thiswill be followedwith solar activities at the French ScoutCentre Jambville, near Paris that willbecome a Scout Center of Excellence forNatureandEnvironment.The Scouts Go Solar is a joint projectbetween the World Organization of theScout Movement, Green Peace &Solafrica, working in close collaboration

with the Kandersteg International ScoutCentre, Switzerland including the BoyScouts of the Philippines and Pakistan BoyScouts Association as official pilotcountriesof theProject.Mr. Asif Mahmood & Zahid Mahboobwere provided Training by the GreanPeace at Manila and Kandersteg to runsolar activities in Pakistan.Mr. Asif as LeadTrainer has served World Scout JamboreeJapan inAugust, 2015.

Balochistan Scouts Association celebratedEid ul Azha with orphan and needy peopleat three OrphanCentres, OldAgeCentre.

The team of Balochistan Boy ScoutsAssociation visited Old Age Home anddistributed Eidi to children and arrangedmeat to the needypeople .

Dr. Adeel AhmedKhan, leader of the teamof Balochistan Boy Scouts Association metwith women of Old Age Home andappreciated their arrangements.

He also affirmed the services of Mst.Raheela Durani, Brig (R) Abdul RazzaqBaloch and other Social Workers in thisregard.

Scouts from Matta Scouts Open Groupperformed services in different sections ofZSTHQHospital Matta. They served in Lab,Casualty, Medical ward, Children ward,Surgical ward, OPD, Parking area etc. Agroup of scouts cleaned the waterchannels in the hospital. M.S. Dr. Saleemappreciated theeffortsmadeby scouts.

SCOUTACTIVITIES INSWAT

Swat Boys Scouts Association arranged a

7-day camp for Boys and Rovers in Kalamunder the supervision of District ScoutsSecretary Purdil Khan from10th-16th Sept2015. The camp was attended by

hundreds of scouts fromMiddle, High andHigher Secondary schools throughout thedistrict. The camp was also attended byMSOG and SSOG. TheMSOGpatrol led byGroup scouts Leader Haji MuhammadMusa Khan Pasban. In camping, MSOGdeclared first. While in Yaqeen badge,Mr.Rafi Ullah of Bamakhela got 1st positionandMr.AnwarAli ofDrushkhela got 3rd. InIstiqlal badge and hiking, Mr. Bahar Ali ofKalakot got 1st position in the district.Scout Shakil Arshad of Madyan, got firstposition in Scout Hamd, Naat and Millinaghma.

SCOUT WEEKPIA Boy Scouts also reported that NationalWeekwas also celebrated in theirdistricts.

Mr. Usman Pasha, Deputy DirectorProgramme, PBSA visited District

Headquarters, Rawalpindi in the OpeningCeremony. About 50 Scouts attended theprogramme. During Scout Week ScoutvisitedTombof Shohuda, SOSVillage.Peace Walk was also arranged. In theclosing ceremony scouts presentedtableau,Milli Naghmasandspeeches.

International Peace Day was observed allover Pakistan. Matta Scouts Open grouparranged a simple but dignified programon the occasion. Assistant DistrictEducation Officer (Primary) Abdul AzizShaheen was chief guest on the occasion.

GSL-Haji Muhammad Musa Khan Pasbangave a brief introduction on the history ofpeace day and described the role ofscouts/MSOG in establishing peace. AGSLRafi ur Rahman, Syed Alaudin, ShakeelArshad, Israr Ullah, Bahar Ali and othersalso participated in the talk. Chief guestappreciated the role of MSOG during Swat

operation. He said that scouts play a vitalrole during war but its role in establishingpeace ismore important. at the end of theevent, Shields, certificates and badges

were presented to the position holders ofKalam camp, participant of wood badgecourse and scouts, who have renderedhospital service during National ScoutsWeek2015.

HAJJSERVICESATSAUDIARABIAScout Leaders and Rovers renderedservices in all the local Haji Camps inPakistan . Out of these 423 ScoutKhuddam, 16 have served Hujjaj at Saudiathis year.An other group of PIA Boy Scouts Hajjcontingent - 2015 comprising of 51Rover Scouts also traveled to Jeddah on16thSeptember, 2015.The Cont ingent Leader Mr. Yaar
